0:00Hey guys, I'm Kira and today I learned how to pronounce the word sli-t, meaning after or behind. Let's start in the middle. For the soft L, let's borrow from Welsh. I believe there's this really cool double L sound they have. It's like an L with a really high tongue position, but they breathe through it with no vocal chord vibration as if it were an H. This is a great way to get the soft L in our word. Another way to think of it is that it's an L with a slight Y sound built in. Y, Y, Y. The Y has a lilt in it. Y, Y, and when this word is read on its own or spoken at the end of a phrase, the D sounds like a D. Let's do the last three letters. Y, Y, Y. Now we'll add on the S.
