On April 27, a 23-year-old Afghan national named Daywood Safey has pleaded guilty to stabbing his landlord and a 14-year-old boy during a knife attack in Uxbridge last October. He's accused of murdering 49-year-old dog walker Wayne Broadhurst, who died after being stabbed about 14 times right there on the street. In Midhurst Gardens, Safey called his landlord Shazad Farouk over to his annex on October 27, then attacked him with a large knife. Broadhurst ran for help, but Safey chased him and also slashed the teenage boy nearby before spotting Broadhurst walking his dog and going after him too. Neighbors jumped in quick. One even used a walking stick to fend Safey off-saving Farou's life after he took multiple wounds and a punctured lung. He needed surgery and stayed in hospital while the boy got hand injuries but went home that day. Broadhurst didn't make it, pronounced dead around 5.45 pm, despite medics rushing in. In court at Southamore Crown Court via video from Broadmore Psych Hospital, Safey admitted
causing serious harm to Farouk and lesser harm to the boy, plus having the knife. He denied trying to murder either, but hasn't pleaded on Broadhurst killing yet. Psych experts say he's fit for trial. He got asylum here in 2022. Safey's back in June 2nd for more case management, with the full trial set for July 13th. This one's still unfolding as the court sorts the murder charge.
