Affordable Homes & Green Space: Clifton's New Development

The project aims to address a shortage of family homes in the area. A public consultation happened back in March to hear from nearby residents before submitting formal plans soon. The site was sold by the council last May to fund local services and more housing. Experts like architects, ecologists, and engineers are on board to handle everything from drainage to landscaping. Local walkers and dog owners raised concerns when a gate to Fairham Brook along the Green Bell got bolted shut recently. Clifton councilors Andrew Rool and Kevin Clark stepped in, and the gate was cut open by yesterday afternoon, restoring access to this popular path.
