Actor's Harassment Nightmare Ends in Court
About this episode
Adam Rickitt, a 47-year-old actor and pub owner, endured a year-long harassment campaign from Ron Kleihues, a 52-year-old local man. Kleihues actions escalated from being barred from the pub to sending threatening letters, showing up uninvited, and fixating on staff members. Despite police warnings and Rickitts pleas for help, Kleihues continued his harassment. In court, Kleihues pleaded guilty to harassment and was given an indefinite restraining order, a community order with rehab activities, a fine, and costs. Kleihues faces another hearing in June for a possible stalking protection order, as Rickitt hopes to put an end to the terror and allow his team to return to normalcy.

On April 28th, a 47-year-old actor and pub owner, named Adam Rickett, faced a year-long harassment nightmare from a 52-year-old local. Man, Ron Clay Hughes in Nutsford, Cheshire. Rickett, known for roles in Coronation Street in Hollywood, runs the Dexter and Jones bar and first barred Clay Hughes after he showed up acting. Strange, accusing Rickett of hacking his phone. The trouble escalated with Clay Hughes sending creepy letters and messages, turning up uninvited at the pub and fixating on staff members, declaring, love for one barmaid. Despite police warnings and Rickett pleading for him to get help, Clay Hughes kept pushing, even leaving a stenciled note on Christmas Day when the bar was closed. Rickett and his wife Katie, a former TV presenter, lived in fear of a street ambush or stabbing, so they changed routines and never walked alone. He ended up on anti-anxiety meds, suffering night convulsions from stress and worried constantly about his staff, whom he calls family, especially.
Fearing Clay Hughes might harm a child or attack someone. And crew magistrates court, Clay Hughes pleaded guilty to harassment after denying it at first. He got an indefinite restraining order banning contact with Rickett, his wife and three staffers, plus a 12-month community order with 30, days of rehab activities, a fine of 180 pounds, and 472 pounds in costs. Now Clay Hughes faces another hearing in June for a possible stalking protection order. While Rickett hopes this ends the terror and lets his team get back to normal without looking over their shoulders.
