Ace Austin Shines in NCAA Tournament

0:00On March 20th, Alabama women's basketball heads into the first round of the NCAA tournament with five starters who all have tournament experience. But Coach Christie Curry has her eyes on freshman guard Ace Austin to step up in a big way. Austin put up solid numbers this season, averaging 6.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. She saw the court for more than 20 minutes a night in 30 games, sitting out just the first one, and the final two, because of injury. Her standout performances have come in some of the crimson tides biggest matchups and Curry feels confident about her poise. The coach points out that Austin has thrived on big stages before, from summer leagues to high school, with no signs of nerves heading into March. Madness.
