So like I said, I appreciate you coming down, okay, I know it's probably difficult to get through the day and whatnot, but I just want to see how you're doing and see what's going on and just, there's some stuff I gotta follow up with, some more questions I don't ask you. 3:29Why do you, remember I told you last night about, sometimes I'm going to ask them questions and it's not that I'm insensitive or not caring, but how come you're crying, I don't upset. Okay. Did you get any sleep last night on this morning with that, you know, and you get something to eat today this morning? Do this from, I left you at three o'clock this morning and it's now one, so I did think about five o'clock, what's been going on in the last 10 hours? Tell me about your day, tell me what, just, just general conversation. I slept in it, John was like, what's going on, and they're like, couldn't tell me before I went to sleep, so I just woke up this morning. Okay, what did you tell him? Tell him everything? 4:29Well, come on now, okay, I know it's tough, and I know it's easy for a lot of people to say I don't know, but now's the time that I need you not to say the I don't know, and kind of help us figure out what happened as far as, how come we got to this point? I can't have it, and you do a lot of the I don't know, okay? Because I just, I need, I need to have some sort of answer, so you didn't tell John the whole story today, why, what were you thinking at that time, that you couldn't tell? Oh, I just, I don't know, I told him everything, but I just, I told him what I was telling you, first half of the night, but she, but she wasn't, she didn't know what it was. Okay, so did you classify her, is she still born, or okay? So that's what, that's what he knows right now, and you didn't tell him anything else.

5:33You know, you know, at some point, and probably today, you need to tell him, he deserves it. You understand that, right? I mean, looking at him, he looks like he's, doesn't know which way is up, he doesn't have, doesn't seem like he has any idea what's going on, and you owe it to him, okay? I know, you know, I know you guys back in March of 2010, you know, you guys were there, you guys went through that horrible ordeal, just the Bella, and it's just, he, he needs to have, he needs to know how to do that, and I'll help you with that today, okay? However I can, why, why did you tell him, what you told me in the second half? Because I just, what I told you last night, I just feel like it's a disgusting person, and I don't want to, I don't know, just heart for me to see it, see it.

6:37Okay. Did you call along? No. Did you call with your family? Yeah. Have you not? I just wanted to, like, tell them everything before you know, you know, you know, you know, it's quite old, you know. What was the last time you talked to Mom about that? Well, yesterday, I talked to my mom, being free for all of this or afterwards. Just in the morning when we woke up. Um, how do you feel about talking with me today, I know actually that last night, but, you're still okay with talking with me? Um, what? There's some, there's just, I went down to the coroner's office this morning, and we'll talk about that a little bit, but before I talk about that, the coroner and the medical examiner wanted me to just feel a little bit more background information on you, so

7:40maybe they can kind of, you know, in situations like this, it's just not, it's not black and white. I mean, it's just not okay here, there's, there's, there's some background stuff that they try to, so we can try to figure out and put things together, okay. Have you, I mean, have you ever dealt with counseling? Have you ever been training, like, counseling for your work or anything like that? As far as dealing with the kids and they come with you with problems and stuff like that? Yeah. What type of counseling or training did you have for that? Like, basically, comments and training, like, have the, the kid basically resolve their own issues and just ask some questions, you know, like, look who you done differently and stuff like that. Okay. And that's kind of, it's the same premises that I work from, but like I said, the coroner wants to live a more background from you, you know, as far as, you know, maybe some, you know, I told them what you told me about birthlars from my own, you, you mentioned that you come from a religious background, family values and all that stuff.

8:42Can you explain a little bit more as far as where you come from on that, just so I can kind of understand as far as what are you about this Protestant, what, what type of religious background, what, what denomination do you have? I guess Christian. Okay. On my group, do you know Dr. David Jeremiah's? I don't. I'm a big church and I grew up there, like, going every Sunday and all of my parents just always said, wait for the right one, wait until you're married and you'll be more prevalent. So, how are your parents back then? Obviously, you don't have, did you have any other boyfriends before, Javon? I mean, I mean, boy, friends, but like dating type boys, I mean, what did they ever really, like, have a sit down with you and say, if, you know, I mean, they said, you don't just wait till you're married, it's better and stuff. What else did they say about that? Did they give you a stir in the mornings as far as you better not?

9:44Not like, yeah, like just like what moms do, you know, like, but I think they like kind of knew because they'd spend the night at his house and stuff like that. I mean, I haven't always been mad, you know, I mean, yeah, you know, but, you know, my oldest girls, I have two older girls, one's 19, one's 21, okay, and they don't live in the home, but I don't need to ask them if they're, you know, doing stuff. I mean, that's pretty, I mean, you know people are in relationships and when they're doing stuff like that. So, it's, and as parents, we even know it more so because you act differently, you dress differently, you talk differently, you know, stuff like that. So a lot of that, just that, you know, parental intuition, what are you going to think? What do you think mom's going to say when you tell her the whole truth? I have no idea. I have no idea. I have no idea. I have no idea. I have no idea. I have no idea. You think she's going to come on glue? I think she's pretty, pretty mellow.

10:45I mean, I don't know her. Yeah. She's nice lady. How about dad? Hello. That's a concern for me. Okay. The other part of me is you don't need to be taking a bunch of key from people. You're already going through hard enough time. I just, if they call me, I mean, after you tell them, they call me. I kind of want to know what I'm getting into. You know what I mean? What do they do for work? They're both teachers made up, high school, my mom's preschool. Okay. So, and is it a Christian school or is it public school? Some three daughters that public my mom works at Christian. Okay. I mean, so, you know, it's probably not going to be too far-fetched for either one of them here, and you know, it's your pride in it, and I'm married. That's not going to shock their senses, because that's common.

11:46I can see them say, well, it's my girl. When were you adopted? When I was two. Okay. Do you know much about your biomellum or biofamilum? Just thought, I know she got a ton of drugs, and she had pregnant with me, and it was born with a lot of drugs inside of me. And then, um, CBS took me away, and I was in foster care from when I was born until I was two, and I got adopted. So, you're going to have a closed adoption? A closed adoption. Maybe I'll match your room up. So, I mean, when I came into my stepdaughter's lives, one of them was two of them was four. I mean, that's pretty much mom and dad for you. I'm here 23 now. How was home life growing up as a little girl?

12:50It was normal, like, you know, typical suburban family. Do you supply to do some family? You know, middle class. You probably had money to do stuff. I imagine you probably weren't living in power. I wanted to tell you how I was like a playground being in the back, like, you know, in a neighborhood. Christmas time, there was plenty of guests. I mean, other than kids always want more. But it wasn't like you only had, well, I mean, that's the prototypical or the standard, you know, decent upbringing. I'm going to ask you something, probably even more personal. Have you ever been sexually assaulted or molested as a girl by anybody? Because if that, if you have, and you haven't told me about it, I want you to tell me about it now. How about as an adult? Have you been raped or anything? Nothing like that. So as far as that type of life, as far as sexual experiences go,

13:52would you characterize them as been a good thing? You know, I mean, as far as not having any bad experiences, other than... Yeah. I know it's tough. I know I'm actually not a stuff, but I just... It's been a long morning for all of us. And I got, members last night, I told you, I'm asking people asking a lot of questions of me as far as what's going on. So that's where a lot of this is coming from. Because, you know, I have a list of things I want to ask you. And it's just kind of where I'm coming from. And you're doing a really good job. All right, now it's tough. But it's something I just kind of get through. And we talked about this last night, and just to confirm, this has been your main job for the last three years. Four and a half. How come you got put in the school?

16:55What happened? My parents are real teachers, and I was getting decent apps. Like, what ended my sophomore year, like, beginning of my junior year? And they just thought I had, like, a lot of issues with my adoption. Because I was so, like, kind of distant from them. But just, it's just, like, a teenager. And, like, I've always looked at them as my parents and the number, thought of them as anything different. But they kind of did just because... I don't know. I just don't know what you kind of... You were soft when you were, you were what? 13? 15. 15? 15. Teenage girl. And no offense. I have two. I've had two who go through my house. You know, stand by. Yeah. It's where you can pay out. Didn't... And what it is? Incorrect me if you're wrong. What I'm hearing is that... Did your mom and dad think that whatever the 15-year-old teenage girl stuff was contributed to your... Did you ever talk to them and say, Mom, Dad, that's not it. I'm just a teenage girl. Did you guys ever have those conversations?

17:56No. Because I didn't really like them or talk to them at all. And I was like, 15 or 16. They didn't want anything to do with them. What? They annoyed me. I don't know. Okay. Why? Just because they're my parents. And it was like... They never touched alcohol. I never kissed a boy. I was like, I was such a goody-goody. And I kind of didn't want to be. And that's how I rebelled. If it was being mean to them. Like, I never went to parties or anything. I just was mean to my parents. Sorry. I break along my own rules, but...

19:06Have you been back up with the Academy today? No. Have you had any contact with anybody? No. Does anyone have a girl's college to check? Or will I have your phone? Have any of them called you on to ask about you? Just like, approach you off or what? Okay. I don't know. Did you check emails, Facebook? Did you do that kind of stuff? I mean... No one's... No one's done anything. I haven't checked. When I was down talking with the corners. I told myself, you know, I was trying to get water. And I could have remembered. I remember you saying that you were putting some water on your finger. Just to try to dip it in the mouth and on the tongue. How else did you try to provide water? I might have just tried, like, with the cup, but I didn't want to choke. So, like, I could sit around and just try to have a drink out of that. But it just wasn't worth eating.

20:06So, I just, like, tried with my finger constantly. And any milk products? I'm cow milk, goat milk. And I know we talk about breast. Did you ever think that you had her latch on where she was able to ever breastfeed? Like, if she actually got milk, like, that clear stuff, but I wasn't, like, producing so much stuff. Because of clear stuff, but first day or so. It's not really nutrition. It's just, you know, you never think of kind of priming itself. And you used to really didn't start getting your milk in until a few days later. Until after she passed, right? The days when she was with us. Talked to me about some of her clothes, diapers, stuff like that. What did you have? I just had her blanket. I'd be there after she went to the bathroom. And stuff like that. And I just put her in my blanket.

21:07So, how many times should you go poop? Two or three times, I think? She probably had the first one. The big black one. Did you get that one? Yeah. Yeah, that's normal. You know that? Okay. Yeah, it's the body, you know, going from being inside the mom state to going outside. And you need to be able to black tar type poop. And that goes off for the first couple of days or whatever, then as they start to eat, they start to regulate and use it in terms of, it's usually dirty and stuff. But I never got to make normal color. It was always like that black color. Black color. And have out urine. Um, I know, I don't remember. Okay. I know it's tough. Okay. I see your dress again today. Those look like different types or different leggings.

22:08Is that, I mean, is this your normal style of the dress? Yeah. Do you usually wear like both clothes on the upper portion and whatnot? And is that, I mean, still, because when we talked last night, you told me you didn't have to change your dress per se. And is that how you were, and I'm not putting words about, is that how you're able to conceal, I mean, your belly? Let me ask you this. I mean, I know all women do it when you're naked, and you look, do you ever look in the mirror to yourself to see how you looked? Look, yeah. Okay. And, I mean, how'd you look? I mean, I mean, obviously you had a belly or? Well, I didn't start showing until, like, quite like when I... I don't remember. But, I was, like, hungry all the time and everything, and I was like, I might not... Like, am I pretty mad, I don't know. And then I just started feeling the kicking and that's when... I guess I'm noticing, like, my stomach and stuff.

23:09But I just thought I was, like, eating meat normally. When you're up at the... Now, we talked a little bit about your background as far as, you know, maternity stuff, basically what you learned in school. Now, when you had... Bella. Okay. Javon was aware of that. He was part of that. Yes. Did you guys... How many classes did you go to as far as parenting classes? Or what did you do to prepare for that? Oh, I hid that pregnancy from him too. I hid it non-tilium to the hospital. So, the night that you went to the hospital the first time you knew. But during that pregnancy, you... How did you care for yourself? Did you take any prenatal then? Did you Google what to do for the baby as far as, you know, health wise? What you should be doing? Stuff like that? You think of my body?

24:09I got it. Hey, thanks. So, I just started eating healthy, like, more greens and stuff like that. Anything like, could it take anybody extra vitamins or anything? You're still doing the alcohol consumption then? Um... Yeah. Go ahead. You need more, let me know. After... After the baby passed. And I'm just recapping here. Okay, tell me yes or no. You kept her in the laundry basket and the sheets and the pillows. You kept her in your room over by the closet, over by your stuff. And that's where she stayed for a better part of a month and a half. Stayed in there the whole time. Mm-hmm. How many times a day did you check on her? You know what I mean? No, she's passed. Did you just leave her there? I kind of looked at her and I was like, so ashamed.

25:09I didn't look. Friday, you find out your stuff has been tampered with or moved with. And it sounds to me like the girls were maybe looking for some clothes or a blanket or something. And I was like, what's wrong? What time or when did you have the opportunity to move her from the bedroom to the storage area? I like, well, I came up from Juman's that night and I realized that I'm just like sitting and making a couch. What's gonna happen? And then I went to sleep and I just woke up super early and took her down before it went to work. And that's where she'd been ever since? Yeah. How many times did you go back to check on her in the laundry room to make sure she was still there?

26:11I just, like, peaked my net in just to see if anyone moved or anything. Just cycle in through twice. Now, what are the girls that were up there? They talked to you that Friday night. Tell me about that. Wait, if you talked to me, you were Saturday night. Yeah. Saturday night? Yeah. Nothing about anything like that. What did they talk about? Just normal work stuff. And you went out. And you were like, normal. Did they confront you about the baby or anything? Is any one of them gonna tell me otherwise? Yeah. Okay. Who all prior to Juman in the last couple of weeks? Who all, I mean, I guess I put it this way. If you hid the pregnancy and nobody had any idea, you'd deserve an Oscar for keeping it in for so long.

27:11I'm not being rude or disrespectful, but it's real tough to hide that kind of stuff. I don't care who you are. And, like I said, you said you were a very girl. You're not. Okay, you're, I mean, you're an avocized girl. How did you do that without having anybody? No. And that's the baby who's born. I don't know what it talks about the crying. I mean, how did, how did nobody, here or, did you ever say, is there a baby crying? Are there any other babies up there? Are there any other little kids up there? Like families and stuff? Did you ever hear scuttle bud or, you know, grapevine that I heard a baby crying at all in those three or four days? You had her on early Monday morning. You were off that day. You were off Tuesday. You went back to work Wednesday? So you went back to work at seven.

28:12And you took her to that vacant residence the first day? When you were working the first day, you took her, where did she stay while you were working? In the apartment. In that apartment? Okay. Where at in the apartment did you stay at? There's, like, just a lot of, there's two of them in the far left room. Okay. So, stayed in the basket, or stay on the floor, or stay in the bed, or what? I, like, a bunch of, like, kids didn't like me, like, a barrier around her. So she was comfortable. What, I mean, so she was just, she didn't have any clothes on. She was just in the sheets. Okay. How many times were your intervals going back, checking on her to make sure she was comfortable? I spent the night there, because I'd leave the ones at 12, because we couldn't feel,

29:12and then I'd go to my house for a little bit, and then I'd sneak over there, and stay there probably to, like, four in the morning, go out to sleep in my room, and then just check on her as often as I could. Okay. Wednesday, you got to work, what, five on a Wednesday? No, nine p.m. Nine p.m. So you work from seven to nine? Yeah. And then two breaks. You go check on her, you get off work, and then you stay over at Javans till what midnight? Yeah. Go back to your place, go sleep with her for a couple of hours, go back to your place, and get back up to work the second day. Go check on her. Okay. So now we're up to Thursday, and I think that's the day that you told me that you found it. Oh, I thought, okay. And I found her after work on Thursday. Yeah. 31:14and I was like, what am I going to do? And then... I just... put her... I just carried the blankets into my room, and then my basket was in my room. I put her in there. And that's where she's been ever since it tells me to be. And I... I know I keep asking you, and I got to... Why? Why didn't you just... get help? Why didn't you just bite the bowl? And just say, I need help. Somebody that I have a baby. You're not going to be the biggest answer question that anyone's going to have. Your mom's going to ask that. Why did you... Your mom's going to ask, why did you call me? What are you... and I can't have it, I don't know. I mean, at that point, you made the decision not to it. I need to know why. Oh.

32:14I was just like, cigarette and so many things are running through my head, and I didn't want to put you on through this again, and he likes so much going on in his family, and I didn't want to bring something else into it, and... just stupid reason, I guess. Lookin' back. What shoes you're done? I could not have sex. Well, that would be, I'm trying. That's lookin' a lot further back. He came to the hospital or something other than what I did. You mentioned that you started driving to Chico, or you were going to go to Chico one night, how far, and I don't think we finished, how far, did you get down with my road, or did you even get far? Tell me about that. And we got, like,

33:15two really things that we were going to do. We were going to go to Chico one night, how far, and I don't think we finished, how far, did you get down with my road, to where, like, the yellow light begins, you know? Oh, okay, down there by Bateman, or about my fur and road. And then you stopped there and stayed with her that night, down the side of the road, or what? No guys, they woke up or they thought morning. That was Monday morning. And I just, like, stayed with her until, like, noon. Where did you stay? Side of the road. Side of the road down there? Yeah. What, like, just, like, on, like, the dirt path, they just, like, they pulled over, they're just, like, holding her and stuff. And then you came back.

34:19But she stayed with you in your room? No. I put her in the apartment thing. Oh, okay. So even, on your days off, she, you kept her in the apartment. Yeah. Well, because you still have roommates and people around. And you just keep, just keep going back and check it on her. Did you stay with her during the night, on your days off? Just, like, the same, of what I did on my days off. Okay. So that was pretty much the same schedule. Yeah. Midnight, a Javans. Come back. Yeah. Go in and be up, and then just check on her throughout the day. It's, at some point, you had to, you had to say to yourself, what I am doing is not right. Did you ever have one of those moments? Yeah. Tell me about it. Well, like, when I, drove, I was driving back up. I don't think, why are you doing, like, I don't know,

35:19but I couldn't, I don't know, I just, like, I'm under a go, but I just, I know what to do. So, I just, like, oh, wait, until my mouth comes in and figure something out. I don't know. I just think he was the only one with things. All right. What was the question? I don't know. So at some point, you had to realize, you had to have a little self-revelation of what you're doing was not the right thing to do. And that you needed to do something. And then, I guess, my question is, why didn't you? Jessica. I mean, come on, listen, listen. Why didn't you do something? Why didn't you do something? Why didn't you take your last breath out? Why didn't you, did you, did you baby? No. Why didn't you name her? I mean, that's your baby. She named Bella. You know. Why didn't you name this one?

36:20I don't know. I didn't want to be attached to go through what she did last time. I mean, just tell me. Okay. I don't know. I don't have to sit here and pull. I mean, I know a lot of the answers is coming from you. Okay. But you're making it up. You're making it up. You're making it up. You're making it up. You're making it up. You're making it up. Okay. But you're making it harder on both of us today. Okay. Why didn't you name her? If I named her, then it was like real. I don't know. It was like, it was like a bad dream to me. I'm really what he did to her. You know? What'd you do to her? I didn't take care of her.

37:21I didn't... I was just a dumbfounded. But you didn't name her before all that. You didn't... You didn't have her name before you gave birth. And we're not talking about not naming her after birth. You had no name in mind. Yes or no? Okay. Jessica, you wanted to plan on keeping her. You couldn't bear it to give her up for adoption. You couldn't bear it to keep her for yourself because of maybe public scrutiny. And I mean, I'll be real honest with you. I've been honest with you. I've seen this before. Pride has let her die and do away with her. And that, they wouldn't know that. I tried to... I'll give you that.

38:21And I think part of that is because I'd imagine hearing those cries. It's bad enough when you have a healthy baby and you're taking care of it and you hear those cries. But when you doubt it, you're detaching yourself and separating yourself from it. They're still maternalizing. Okay, that's your baby. And the baby cries, you heard inside. Or you're just trying to give her water just to not fill the pain of you. I mean, what? That's why I asked them, but I need to know that. Maybe I'll... Yeah, what? I understand. I don't know. I don't know. I can't have, I don't know. Oh. I know you're in a bad position. I know. I can't imagine. I can't imagine how bad you feel.

39:22Okay? You're not the worst person in the world. There's a lot more. Worst person in this world, okay? But when I go back to my boss and he asks, well, why did this happen?
