They're communicating via olfactory senses. They smell things. I don't think they make, I don't think they make noise. Okay. All right. There you go. You're allowed back at Catalina Island then. So even when they even when they chomp off, you know, when they're silent, silent killers, silent, they just didn't make no noise. They're like, I'm just going to bite you. That was a good answer. Say Drew, what school did you go to? Duke University was my undergraduate and yes, I I've put Duke in every year. Every single year I filled out a bracket going back to 1990s when I first got into college basketball watching Christian later beat Kentucky. Wow. Yeah. Okay. You know, not a bad hit rate through the years. Not as good as it could have been though. You know, a lot of texts in the latest, the the last chapter of the Chechevsky regime. There were a lot of a lot of text messages in my Duke group friends that I wouldn't mind having back just about, you know, this coast is K washed. Like is it time? Like do we do we need to to move on here? Now I feel like, you know, it was

6:06it was pretty cool and special to have experienced it. But but yeah, there were there were there's been a lot of fun runs over the years. You know, and I don't know if I'm not over last year. I don't understand how a team with Conquaniple, Rookie of the Year. Yeah. And Cooper flag runner up Rookie of the year. I didn't win the national title. It's pretty mind blowing. Yeah. Rookie of the year and a runner up. Hold that, hold that Knepple flag for a second. Last Duke question because I always wondered about this. As someone who went to Duke, you are aware of the rampant Duke hate that exists out there. I'm not sure if the younger generation AIDS Duke as much as our generation did. Did you did you relish in this as a as a Duke alum and Duke student? I participated in it in that my least favorite kids on campus were the camera crazies. Oh, interesting. You in order to

7:08have good living, but when I went there, things have completely changed because they blew up like the whole fraternity like housing system. But when I went to school, you needed to join fraternity to have like the like the the nice places to live on campus on West Campus, you know, like next to the chapel, you know, beautiful, beautiful comments. You know, the housing that it was premiere, you joined a fraternity so you could get good housing. Rush happened in January and February, right? Like that's when you that's when you went to parties, you know, got to know the upperclassmen joined a fraternity. If you were interested in being a camera crazy, number one, the only reason you would do it was so that you could be on the TV side of the broadcast. You could walk up and walk into a game anytime. You did not need to be living on a tent in Chichefskyville to go watch Duke basketball. It was free. If you were a student, you could just walk right in, but you couldn't be on the side where they put you on TV. And so really that was

8:09all that was afforded by living in a tent for the months of January and February. And so you can kind of understand where I'm going here, which is if you elected to do that, you were self-selecting as someone who was not interested in participating in the sort of the social fabric of the rest of the undergrad, you know, student body, right? And so they weren't they weren't the coolest kids ultimately. And the, wow, when we walked, when we walked, when we walked, we walked to the pool for swim practice at six in the morning, every morning. We would walk through Chichefskyville and we would torment them. I'm not proud of this, but you know, it was we would take our opportunity to voice our displeasure with the fact that, you know, they would create a situation where they made getting into the games a motor come harder for those of us who did, we're not, you know, interested or able even to live our lives in a tent outside of

9:10Cameron, indoor stadium. So this has been fast. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There was a there was a good amount of animosity towards this part of the student body. And it peaked, Gil, when number one Duke was up against number two Maryland, I want to say when I was a junior. And at this point now, like you did actually have to stay overnight in a line to get into the game because this was such, you know, this was like the game of the entire calendar year in college basketball. I was like, well, again, being a swimmer, you didn't have the, you know, you weren't afforded the opportunity to sit in line. You had to go to practice. And so one of my summer friends and I knew the manager who was, you know, responsible for all the uniforms and everything. And we, you know, we, we talked to him was like, hey, can you get us a Duke band uniforms, you know, from the laundry. And he was like, yeah, absolutely. And so he hooked us up with the blue and white striped polo shirts, you know, that demarcate the Duke band. And we showed up five minutes before the game. We

10:11ran to the main entrance. We were like out of breath. And we begged the ticket holder, hey, we missed our bus. They closed the door. We're not, you know, we're in the band. And, you know, they're, we're not going to, we're not going to make this performance. You got to let us say it. And the officer was like, oh, go, go, quick. They're about to start like get in there. And we were like, wow, we just circumvented the whole wine. This is great. This was amazing. We slipped into the crowd. And we immediately got knocked on by the camera crazy. So we're like, these guys don't have wristbands. They snuck in getting, you know, and so we got dragged out of there before the, the game of the entire, you know, regular season of college basketball was contested as you can get to see it. And so from that point to today, I have, you know, a meaningful amount of animosity in my heart towards the camera crazy. But Duke basketball, I hope wins the national title. Wow. I wasn't what insight to the journal to the culture in Durham. Wow. Losers. Unchill. I just want to be on TV. I just want, I like the picture of Drew walking by and flip

11:14flops head into the pool, yelling at you know, making fun of somebody in a tent. A young, a young bully drew dancing back. I think I drew by the way, Duke plus 350, the short shot to win the, to win the madness about Knapple and flag. Who do you think takes us in the end? I think it's going to go con. The hornets are so much more of a fun story to tell. I really can't imagine there's a world where anyone who is writing their end of year column is just all that excited to, you know, to tell what happens has happened with the Mavericks and Cooper flag this year. Counting stats aren't really that sincerely in favor of flag and the efficiency stats for Knapple are outrageous. Like this guy is having not just one of, not just the greatest season this year for a rookie, but one of the best seasons for a rookie in, you know, in a decade. Like this is unbelievable, you know, what he has meant to this particular hornets team and just, you know, his performance overall, you know, there's on, on merit and just by nature of

12:19wanting to tell a good story. I think Knapple gets the votes. Minus 210 now. As the other part, market's not moving, man. Like this is, this has been stubborn since Cooper's kind of return to play. It feels like it's just waiting on a run. Cooper flag just has his two big 45 50 point games. We'll see if this changes. I think so too. Um, it is also kind of, I was confused by the Broncos entire approach to this free agency so far. It felt like they weren't using the kind of advantages that are presented by having a rookie quarterback on a, you know, array, you know, kind of a rookie deal for their quarterback who they believed in. So I was kind of like, man, do they, is there something that's going on behind the scenes? They don't believe in Nick's like, why wouldn't they, you know, kind of push their chips in? This is now kind of more of that, that sort of a move. And Waddle is a great player.

17:36Uh, that's absolutely upgrades their school position group, which was wanting. There it is again. Yeah, I think a Waddle in the Dolphins fourth, 11th in round in this year's guy. So the fourth, oh, the 11th pick in the fourth round. So Waddle and the 11th pick in the fourth round and the Dolphins get the 30th overall pick first rounder this year along with a late third and fourth in this year's draft. So yeah, Waddle, I absolutely, absolutely an upgrade and yet an expensive price to get him part of the answer to your to what you were saying. I allowed their drew about why hadn't the Broncos gone all in because we've said many times on this show. The only ways to win super roles with Hall of Famers or a rookie, you know, guy on a rookie deal over performing, we can pay out everybody else. I'll a Russell Wilson at the time is that the Broncos were strapped with the Russell Wilson money. And so they couldn't do anything before this year. Now they have room to operate. So that was kind of really, they were hamstrung by that. So here you go. They're making the most of it now that that's off the books.

18:38So okay, they're an interesting team. I mean, they've effectively kept it together. Yeah, they get another step forward from Bonix and he's playing mistake free football. They're going to be, they're going to be right there in the mix with the rest of the, the AFC West, which is all kind of interesting now. So, yeah, fun, fun move. How low can you make an NFL season win total? Like seriously? Like how the safe low would a market tolerate for an NFL season win? Are you asking about the jets? I was asking about the dolphins because of this, but yes, them too. Well, dolphins, yeah, dolphins could have some upside. I don't know what their plan is necessarily, but yeah, the, the lowest conceivably, probably three and a half, three and a half, I was thinking to, yeah, can't go lower than that. We all went different places. I thought you were bringing, I thought you were bringing up the Raiders. The path just keeps getting easier in the AFC West for the Raiders. That's true. That's true. Them too. All right. Let's get, let's get some picks from you Drew.

19:39You and I were talking about this off air. It's the second leg of the sunshine double. We get way more excited for Indian Wells than we do for Miami because Miami is no longer in Keepus game with the iguanas. Now it's, you know, a makeshift stadium inside the hard rock and they play on these outer courts that are basically in the middle of a highway. But do you have any plays today? Do you haven't, do you play any futures in this tournament? I do not. I think there are a couple worth looking at. So the draw is imbalanced on the women's side. I think your, in fact, they, you know, brief commentary to close the book on Indian Wells. So yes. The women's final was spectacular. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. The Sablanca Rabakina matchup is going to deliver, I think, time and again, all calendar year. That was number two of what is hopefully like five to ten head to heads. We get between those two women this year and the margins were so narrow. As you said, we don't even know who should have won that match, right? It was just so close.

20:40It was so close. I do think that the point that Sablanca played to stave off championship in the tie break was the best point I've seen a woman play in a long time. She was incredibly aggressive and just raised her precision on that point. And it was like, okay, if she's got that level, she is the best on tour. The, but yeah, Sablanca and Rabakina are both on the top. There are a number of other women who are, I think, you know, kind of, you know, kind of interesting and, you know, kind of dangerous that are also in the top half of this draw. Pagula is in the top. Naomi Osaka is in the top. Yviyo Vitch is in the top. Svitalina playing well is in the top. Zhen Xingwen is in the top. You know, these are all kind of women that I had tapped as keeping eye on where they land in the draw. And they're all on one side. So we have a huge lopsided draw in my opinion, which means the bottom is probably, you know, this is not probably that is no doubt where you should be shopping to try to find any type of value in the futures market.

21:40And for me, that, that speaks to one player, and it is Canadian Victoria and Boko. I know she is, it is no, no question she should be, you know, kind of shorter than the market is realizing, you know, we don't know what her ceiling is. She is, of course, a, sorry, one, a master's in Canada last year, I think this is potentially number two. She can have a tough time beating whoever comes out of the top half of the draw, but you're hoping that that player is just a little bit beleaguered because of how difficult the path is going to be. And yeah, I think, you know, she's done enough at this point for me to, to believe that she can get the better of you. She can get the better of, you know, potentially anisomova coming out of Q3. And I think she'll be there in the final two, potentially pick up number two. So like that, look a lot in the futures pool, men's side things, do you want me to say it out loud? Yeah, definitely do it. This should be sinners to lose. So congratulations to Carlos Alcara's for winning the Miami Open.

Um, but, uh, yeah, Miami Charlotte game of the night, uh, in the NBA, in my opinion, this is, um, uh, you know, kind of, we talked about it last week. Like, uh, if we have all of a sudden, like, all of these teams in the Southeast besides the Wizards are playing well, and they're all fighting for the same, like, three, two, three spots, um, you know, Philadelphia continues to put together wins. I think they're going to be on the outside looking in, um, Toronto seems like they're going to hang on by the, you know, by, uh, you know, by their fingernails to, you know, six, seven seed, something like that, um, of course seven seed doesn't guarantee them into the playoffs. But, um, but yeah, Miami and Charlotte both playing phenomenally well right now. I think this should number should be closer to a pick. I'm going to take the heat on the road, despite how much I love, uh, this Charlotte Hornets

Uh, and, uh, yeah, I think Miami keeps this thing inside the numbers, and this is going to be one where I probably decided by just efficiency at the end of the game and count me as I like, I will take the good coaching of Miami, uh, over what looks to be some, some questions about the end of game defense for the Charlotte Hornets team. I didn't even watch really much on Sunday because it was like one day I went to L.A. I hung out with some friends and it's been a long season. So now we're getting geared back up for the national invitational tournament tonight.

29:52You should be entertaining. You know, me in gaming on the discord. Lee and I see definitely and the play and the promise I'm going to be on the flight for a lot of it, but I'll see if I can track a little bit. Okay. We're going to Crescendo. Crescendo, next segment, you're going to, we're going to revisit your elite eight, your final four, your championship game and your champion from yesterday on the Megapod because I already set it up for people. I'm like, you will not want to miss this. Well, I know it's probably not going to be even close to right. But I just figured, look, if the, listen, you know, you got to, you got to do something different to win and some of the stuff that I was thinking that's crazy is possible to happen. So, you know, yeah, you were downplaying the insanity of it. You think it's actually very, you know, quite likely that it's not likely, but, you know, I mean, he thinks it's quite possible that it could have it possible. All right. Before we get into that, though, we wanted to do as part of, we want to sort of cover every little aspect of the big dance coaches. No one takes in more college basketball than you. Coaches you trust, coaches you don't trust.

30:53Can we start with the coaches you trust list first? Because I know there's a guy that a lot of people don't like that you do like. I like Calipari. I know people about, I know people like don't like him. But that was, you know, Calipari was two different coaches. When he was at Massachusetts and he was the upstart, he was actually a pretty darn good coach. And then when he got all the, when he was like getting all the one in dunes, it could then that he like wasn't as good became this guy. But now I felt like he came, he's coming back to his roots with Arkansas, where he's not that considered the big dog anymore. And they played really well in the tournament last year. I thought, you know, as a, I think there were a low seed. If I remember, there's UMass teams as Marcus Cambian, who was the guard? That was great on that team. There was like a Latino guard. If I remember correctly, maybe that's right. And Zalas or something Rodriguez. Okay. So you, you to John Calipari, of course, the head coach at Arkansas, Arkansas, a, a four seed that you think could get pretty far in this tournament. Arkansas, well, no, the problem is I don't like what they, what they did,

31:56they took two teams that I like. Arkansas and Wisconsin and put them against each other. It's just not fair. I don't want that. Can I reshuffle? You are not allowed to reshuffle. You're not allowed to do that. Wait. So, okay. So if they, if the two teams play, what's your instinct? Well, in my bracket, I took Wisconsin. I just think Wisconsin has the two best wins in the year at Michigan, at Illinois. They're always in the game. They have those three point shooters. Granted, they're not great on defense. They're not, but, you know, I just like their gumption. They feel they feel like a lot of gumption. Even the other day in the, in the tournament against Michigan, they were down big. And then that, that one kid got super hot from three. And they came right back in it. How do you feel about their moxie? You feel as high about their moxie? Is there a moxie slash gumption? Is that yeah, whether it's good, but as well. Yeah. Now you're going a little too far. Okay. That's a good for. Darius A. Cuff, Jr. On the podcast yesterday, the great Jeff Parley, the Grover Cleveland producers mentioned that he thought A. Cuff is the best player in the tournament.

32:57And I said, better than Peterson, better than DeBonza. I know you're not a DeBonza guy. Better than all these guys. He said, yes, you. Yeah, I think he's, I mean, did you see what Sean Miller said? The, you know, Sean Miller knows his ball. Yeah. And he was talking about how, you know, we get over, you know, it's on Twitter. It's the whole thing we get over, you know, stimulated or overexcited about some of these guys, but he said A. Cuff deserves every bit of it and maybe more, you know, because he thinks he's like just unbelievable. So why is he like triple digits to go number one in the draft? Should we be betting that? We never said the draft people were that smart. I do believe there's a man named Thomas Brady, who was in the sixth round. That's correct. Thomas Brady. That's right. I know. That fell draft. But still. All right. 13th in my room. They drafted Nicola Yokech in a commercial in the second round. In the second round. By the way, the nuggets just drafted this dude, basically, when they came back, all right, Kalapari, who else do you trust? I mean, or give me a don't trust.

33:58Well, I don't like Tommy Lloyd. I think Arizona is extremely talented. But every year Tommy Lloyd finds a way to, to monkey it up. Now maybe this year, he'll figure it out, but I, you know, Tommy Lloyd is always a concern. He's always a concern for Arizona. I'm not thrilled with the BYU coach this year. I'll be honest about that. I don't really love him. You have it in for BYU. Let's wait. Mark Fug just rubs me the wrong way. I don't really like him too much. I mean, he's a good coach. I can't take it away from him. Purdue's coach for like a talk. We don't care about your personal feelings. I just want to know if you trust him as a coach. I don't care for him. Purdue. Purdue. Purdue's coach. Painter. You know, come on. I mean, he's good. He's a good coach, but he's not like, I wouldn't put him a lead. He's like a Mike Tomlin guy, you know, okay. That's higher than I thought you'd say about painter, by the way. Okay. I mean, I just feel like he's not like super elite, you know, I like the Michigan coach a lot. The FAU coach. Justin May. He's good.

34:58I'm going down here. Texas Tech. I love their coach. He's outstanding. Tennessee. Man. You can have that one. Let's see who else can tuck in Iowa state. I kind of like the Iowa state coach. He's pretty good. You know, let's go on this side, Jamie Dixon for TCU. Oh, I love Patino, of course. I love Patino. I love, I love, you know, I just like Ricky Patino. Again, as a guy, probably not my favorite guy, but as a coach, I really like him. Uh, Kansas. I don't like Bill Sulf and I always tell this story about how I went to the game. You are not a good Sulf guy. And I think it's just that Kansas's home court advantage is so great that people don't realize if you haven't never been to that field house, what it sounds like in there. And I went one time in my life, and it was the greatest, most unbelievable home court advantage I've ever seen in a sporting event. And I think that's why Kansas through the years, of course, they've been good.

35:59But through the years, they've had a lot of tournaments where they just didn't do it and they were disappointing. And I think it's because they get overrated by the fact their home court advantage is so good. Interesting point. By the way, just to fill in some of the blanks, BYU's coach is Kevin Young, um, Iowa State's coach is, uh, TJ Ozzelberger, who else did you mention here? Oh, you mentioned BYU. That's Kevin Young. Todd doesn't know the names. He just knows. I know who they are. I just, you know it. You know what I mean? Okay. Oh, I love Tom Izo. I love Tom Izo. Love Tom. I just feel like there's all this, you know, consternation about the injuries. Now, of course, Duke's the better team, of course, but, you know, I don't think you're

42:12going to win your, your bracket. If you just have Duke going all, even if Duke goes all the way, somebody else will have something better. You've got to do something. And I feel like St. John's could be Duke. Why not? Okay. Okay. St. John's in your elite eight. Then I didn't want to take Michigan State for this year because I don't really like Michigan State as a team this year. No, I love Iso. As I mentioned, Chris Follie goes like, Oh, wow, great insight. Todd that you like Iso, that Follie goes a little full of himself. Isn't he? I'm getting a little sick of that guy. No, I love Chris. But anyways, Michigan State, I have Michigan State playing Yukon. And the thing is, I don't want to take Yukon either. So it's two teams that I love their coaches and I don't, but I don't know who else to take because I don't like anybody else in here. I don't think you see a lake and do it. I don't think who are the other big ones over here. Louisville, I'm not a, I'm not up on them. And so I just have to go with Yukon against Michigan State. I'm taking Michigan State because I just don't like how Yukon's looked this year, even though I love early. Again, I think he's need some psychiatric care.

43:15Yeah. But I do like him. All right. So St. John's Michigan State in your elite eight in the East region. Right. And then I have Michigan State advancing to the final four over the Ricky Patinos. Okay. You can say your final four team over St. John's. All right. Then in the bottom one, I like Florida. I've liked Florida all year. I love their defense. I just freaking love how they get up on you and just try to strangle you to death. I think Florida is great. And I think they're going to play Vandy in a rematch of recently here in the tournament and I'll take Florida. Then on the bottom part, again, Houston is a team I used to always love to take. But I don't think this is a real Houston team. The defense isn't as good as I've I've thought in the past. So I'm going to take the align eye. Another team that I don't really want to take, but I got to take somebody. So I'm going to have Florida against the align eye on that side and the elite eight. I'm have Florida advancing on to the final four. Okay. And now we go to the top part on the other side.

44:18Some people call these the regions. I call them the top part on the other side west and right, the west top part. So Arizona incredibly talented this year. I mean, I just love the team everything about him, but it's Tommy Lloyd and Tommy Lloyd has proven time and again, much like Gill Alexander in tennis. He can get close sometimes, but he always ruins it because of his psychological problems. So I do believe that Wisconsin and Arkansas, I like both of those teams and I want to take them both, but I'm stuck because they're going to play each other. I'm going to take Wisconsin to get through. I am very enamored of Wisconsin. I know they don't play defense. I'm still in the hammered. I think Wisconsin knocks off the Arizona's and Wisconsin goes to the final eight and then in the bottom part of that same top part, though, we have just an absolute crap storm because I don't like BYU. I don't like Gonzaga without Huff. I don't like Mizzou.

45:21I don't like Purdue. So what I did is I took NC State to beat BYU, beat Gonzaga, oh, Darn it, I just lost my picture. There we go. Beat Gonzaga. And then on the other side, I have Miami knocking off Purdue. So I have a wacko NC State against Miami to go to the final eight and guess what? NC State goes to the final eight and now it's Wisconsin against NC State for a final four bid and the majors take it and go to the final four. Now on the bottom's part on the right, you and NC State stop it in the elite eight yesterday too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just reading off what I have. Okay. And then on the bottom side, I don't really want to take Michigan. There's another problem, but who who's going to knock them off? I don't have anyone to knock them off. So I have Texas tech going against them, but I just don't think tech without the top and kid is going to make it. So I have to have Michigan going to the final eight, which I don't really want to, but

46:22I have to. And then on the bottom bottom, you've got, I've got Kentucky going against Iowa State. Iowa State's team I like and I have Virginia knocking off Tennessee. So now it's Virginia against the cyclones to go to the final eight. And at first I had Iowa State, but then I crossed it off. And I said, maybe this is the team of destiny. As Gilly was mentioning, they've kind of been under the radar all year. The wahoo's Virginia wahoo's will play Michigan in the final eight. And then Michigan would advance to the final four. So we have whiskey against Michigan in the final four Michigan state against Florida on the other side, Florida wins against Michigan state whiskey beats Michigan in an incredible opposite. And they're going to the finals and it's Florida versus Wisconsin and the finals. It's Florida Gators, chomp, chomp, two years in a row. Wow.

47:23So with Scott, the headline, no, by the way, none of that stuff is going to happen. Hold on. Hold on. Just being realistic. The headlines Wisconsin gets to the championship game and NC state gets to the elite eight. Now you are aware that NC state plays Texas in a play and no probably lose in the first game before they even make it, but I'm just look, here's the thing. Obviously, this is Longshotville, right? Right. However, you've got to, in my opinion, you've got to pick something a little unorthodox. And then why not pick against teams that you don't like, which is plenty that I don't like. I don't like Purdue. I don't like Gonzaga. I don't like these teams. So why not do it in that area? You know, like Michigan, I don't really want Michigan to get to the final four, but I couldn't find anyone there to really jam them out. Okay. So you're going to finally enter this in a big national, but that was my one time. It's over. They're not going to you know, I will, but I know I'm not going to make it like you would have. I had the chance that one time, $35,000 down the drain, when you see a chance, take it.
