A mystery caller, leads to murder

About this episode

The year is 1931, and a man named William Herbert Wallace has just returned home to find his house bolted from the inside.

This was odd, as his wife was supposed to be home.

After eventually managing to get in, he discovers a brutal scene: his wife has been murdered.

Once the police arrive and start to take Mr Wallace's account of what happened that evening, suspicion quickly turns to him. He explains that he was out attending a meeting with a mysterious man that he never found.

Did this man really exist, or was this all an elaborate hoax created by William to give himself an alibi for murdering his wife?
