A guaranteed place in heaven - John List

About this episode

On November 9, 1971, a wife, mother, and three children are found at their home in Westfield, New Jersey. All five had been shot and killed and then placed into sleeping bags.

the killer had planned the murders so meticulously that nearly a month passed before anyone suspected that anything was amiss.

The only person missing from the house was the father John List. A reportedly highly religious man Mr List was now the prime suspect, however he had a month head start on the investigation.

The case would go cold for 17 years, 6 months, 23 days before a break through via a new American crime show led the police to the serial killer but just why had he done it?
