9. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) & chronic dizziness: interview with Daniel Gaines LCSW
About this episode
It is my pleasure to bring you my conversation with Daniel Gaines, LCSW, a psychotherapist and mental health coach who specializes in helping people with chronic, medically-unexplained conditions like chronic pain and chronic dizziness. In this interview, we explore the overlap between obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and obsessive-compulsive tendencies with mindbody disorders. Daniel has personally been diagnosed with OCD and also suffered from chronic back pain, so he has a special interest in these two topics! We discuss why OCD and chronic dizziness co-occur, why some people with "OCD tendencies" get OCD and others don't, we cover some of our differences in how we help people with these tendencies, and Daniel gives some actionable advice to anyone suffering from OCD or obsessive-compulsive tendencies and chronic dizziness (or any other mindbody condition).
