An attorney plans to appeal a decision to try one of the teams in a sexual assault case as an adult. 15-year-old Vaughan Griffith is one of two teen suspects certified as adults in the case in which students at the Alexander Dawson School in Somerlin allegedly assaulted a classmate during a trip to Costa Rica. Griffith's attorney Joshua Judd argued Thursday that the certification process was improper. He argued that the judge who certified Griffith recused herself from the case of his co-defendant, 15-year-old Dominic Kim. A hearing on Griffith's case is set for March 24. 1:06Southwest Valley that left a woman in a toddler dead according to authorities. 22-year-old Zaire Ham was arrested in Utah and faces two counts of open murder in connection with the shooting. He told detectives that he thought people had been following him and when he saw a vehicle that did not belong there, he looked into it according to a Metro police report. Ham said he fired into the vehicle when the person inside would not get out, but he was unaware there was a child inside according to police. The utility had been planning to add a daily demand charge to customers bills on April 1st. But now it wants to delay the implementation until October 1st, according to a request filed Tuesday with the Public Utilities Commission. NV Energy President and CEO Brandon Barkuff said the delay will give the utility time to provide information and tools to help customers understand the charge. Attorney General Aaron Ford's office has asked the commission to reverse its approval of the charge. The Southern Nevada Health District Board voted unanimously Wednesday to drop the proposal, which would have affected about 18,000 septic systems in the Las Vegas Valley. A state law passed in 2023 gave the Southern Nevada Water Authority broad power to limit residential water use, including voluntary programs for septic to sewer conversions.
