A 10 year old child is dead after being hit by a vehicle near downtown Las Vegas, according to Metro police. The unidentified boy was attempting to cross East Charleston, Boulevard near 30th Street, East of Fremont Street, just before seven p.m. Thursday when he was struck, Metro Lieutenant Cody Fullweiler said the boy was taken to the hospital where he died, according to police. Now for Vegas Nation, I'm the latest on the Raiders. I'm Heidi Fang and reports say the Raiders are expected to release quarterback Geno Smith before the start of the new league year. A move that would save the team $8 million in salary cap space. Smith had two wins and 15 games that he started for the silver and black. The Raiders acquired Smith, who had previously worked with former head coach Pete Carroll in a trade-last season. He was signed to a two-year extension worth 75 million.
