国木田 独歩（くにきだ どっぽ、明治4年7月15日(1871年8月30日） – 明治41年(1908年）6月23日）は、日本の小説家、詩人、ジャーナリスト、編集者。
このの言葉には、その前に「武蔵野を散歩する人は」という言葉がある。自然豊かな武蔵野では足の向くまま歩き道に迷っても、かならず意味のある場所にでる。独歩は小学校の教師、徳富蘇峰の『国民新聞』の記者、文筆家、編集者と短い人生の中で足のむくまま仕事を変え、そこで実りを得ている。その人生の歩みを武蔵野の散歩に例えたのであろう。
