西 竹一（にし たけいち、1902年7月12日 – 1945年3月22日）は、日本の陸軍軍人、華族（男爵）。最終階級は陸軍大佐。愛称・通称はバロン西（バロン・ニシ、Baron Nishi）。1932年 ロサンゼルスオリンピック馬術障害飛越競技の金メダリスト。
私（Ｉ）が勝ったのではではなく、私とウラヌスの我々（Ｗｅ）が勝ったと優勝インタビューで答えた。最高の舞台に立ったときの西竹一の言葉が、西伝説を生んだのだ。
