田能村竹田（たのむら ちくでん、安永6年6月10日（1777年7月14日） – 天保6年8月29日（1835年10月20日））は、江戸時代後期の南画（文人画）家。旅を好み日本各地を遊歴。詩文を得意とし画論『山中人饒舌』などを著した。
田能村竹田の過ごした旧・竹田壮の近くにある竹田資料館で「筆を用いて工みならざるを患えず、精神の到らざるを患う」（山中人饒舌）という言葉を発見。田能村竹田の絵ができあがるには、対象を見ては直し見ては直しするなど研究に研究を重ねる苦心が込められており、それが完璧な描写になってあらわれるのである。田能村竹田は精神修行者であり、それが優れた絵や詩や書に結実したのだろう。
