About this episode
Hi everybody, and welcome to our 5th Anniversary celebration!
I started this podcast during the pandemic when musicians like me could neither perform nor even rehearse. I needed something creative to do, and someone suggested to me that I should start a podcast. But I had no idea what that was. I had never even listened to one.
But the more I looked into it the more I thought why not give it a shot. I had no audience and no guests, but I did have an idea - to encourage people to follow their dream, just as I had followed my youthful music dream later in life.
So on March 21, 2021 I aired my first show. My guest was “Cousin Brucie” Morrow, America’s most famous radio personality, a friend of mine and a true National Treasure. Bruce introduced the Beatles at Shea Stadium in 1965! And from there I was off to the races.
The show started to catch on and grow. It took two years to get to 1 million downloads. Today we’re at 4.5 million downloads with listeners on every continent in 200 countries!
I’ve now released over 725 episodes. My guests are all world class creative artists - musicians, actors, authors, directors, photographers, storytellers, even poets.
My interviews are conversations, with humor and respect. And I’m pleased to say that some of my guests have become musical collaborators with me as well, which is the icing on the cake.
I want to thank you, the audience, for making this show so popular. I look forward to year 6. As I like to say, keep on rockin - and we’ll see you in the next episode.

0:00Hi everybody and welcome to our fifth anniversary show of the award-winning Folly Your Dream Podcast. I'm Robert Miller your host. You know I started this podcast during the pandemic when musicians like me could neither perform nor even rehearse. I needed something creative to do and someone suggested to me that I should start a podcast but I had no idea what that was I had never even listened to one. But the more I looked into it the more I thought why not give it a shot. I had no audience and no guests but I did have an idea to encourage people to follow their dream just as I had followed my youthful music dream later in life.
1:01So in March 2021 I aired my first show. My guest was Pleasant Brucie Morrow, America's most famous radio personality, a friend of mine and a true national treasure. Bruce introduced the Beatles at Chase Stadium in 1965 and from there I was off to the races. The show started to catch on and grow. It took two years to get to one million downloads. But today we're at four and a half million downloads with listeners on every continent in 200 countries. I've released more than 700 episodes to date. My guests are all world-class creative artists, musicians, actors, authors, directors, photographers, storytellers, even poets.
2:02My interviews are conversations with humor and respect. And some of my guests have become musical collaborators with me as well, which is the icing on the cake. I want to give a special shout out to my terrific editor, Jimmy Ravenscroft, who adds in the music and other materials and who puts all the shows together. He's invaluable. And of course, I want to thank you, the audience, for making this show so popular. I look forward to year six. In closing, as I like to say, keep on rockin' and we'll see you in the next episode. Thank you.
