In the not that well, breathe, breathe. Hi everyone, it's Adar. Thank you so much for joining me. Today we have a five minute TH practice so you can make your TH smooth and consistent when you speak English. First, let's learn how to pronounce the TH. You want to stick the tongue out and release air. The tongue has to be very soft. There are actually two TH sounds. One is voiceless. F, as in thin and F, as in vey. In both cases, the tongue is out. It's soft. And air comes out between the tongue and teeth. Let's practice it in some words. F, thin, thin, thumb, thanks. Let's do it again. Thin, thumb, thanks. Make sure the tongue doesn't block the air because then it's going to sound like thin, thumb, right? Thin, thumb, thanks. Very good. Now the voiced TH,
they, same thing. If you block the air, it's going to sound like the, the, the day. If you don't stick the tongue out, the, the, the, the, or day. So the tongue has to be out and it has to be soft. They, the, the, though, relax your lips. The, the, this. Let's do it again. They, though, this. Good. Teeth, bath, breath, follow me. Again, teeth, bath, breath, soothe, smooth, breathe. Now THR, brace yourself. Ther, Ther, Ther, three. Hold out the R for a little bit. Ther, three, relax your tongue. Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, in the last one, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, Ther, clusters at the end. Six, six,
12, 12, and strength. Strang. Very good. Now let's work on transitions. What happens when the TH connects to another sound? First, and TH. Here is a little trick. If you place your tongue on the teeth for the and it's already ready for you for the TH. In the, in the, in the, in the, in the, in the, in the, in the, in the, in the, in the zone, in the zone, in the zone, in the zone, not that. So here we have the T and the TH. Same thing. Bring the tongue up to touch the teeth for the T, not usually it's behind the teeth, not. So now, not, relax the tongue for the TH, that,
not that, not that, not that, not that bad, not that bad. Need that, need that. Same thing. The D's on the teeth. Need that, need that. I need that. Both sides, THs. I know. Try it with me. Both sides. If you need to pause the video, slow down, repeat a phrase a few times, just do it. Okay? If you want to follow me, if you do this every single day, for two weeks, you will feel a difference. Both sides. Let's do a few phrases. Through thick and thin. Through thick and thin. Thicken thin. Through thick and thin. Neither here nor there. It's neither here nor there. Here nor there. The thing is. The thing. The thing. The thing. The thing. The thing. The thing. The thing is.
Good. Let's move on to sentences. We were both thinking the same thing. We were both thinking the same thing. acclaim, acclaim, acclaim. We were both thinking the same thing. That's the thing, though. It's not that hard. That's the, that's the, that's the. That's the, soft tongue. That's the thing, the thing, the thing, the thing. That's the thing, though. It's not that hard. Let's practice minimal pairs. Truth. truth. Truth. Truth. You want to truce? Tell the truth. You want to truce? Tell the truth. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. It's a breeze. Just breathe. It's a breeze. Just breathe. Thought. Tought. Thought. Tought. She taught me more than I thought.
She taught me more than I thought. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. It's not free. It's three dollars. It's not free. It's three dollars. Alright, that's it. I hope you enjoyed it. Do this exercise for five minutes every single day for two weeks and you will see a difference. Let me know in the comments what other sounds you would like to practice in the meantime. Have a beautiful, beautiful rest of the day. Subscribe to my channel if you haven't yet and I'll see you next week in the next video. Bye.
