5. John Buchanan - Former Australian Cricket Coach - Finding Your Everest

Sir Alex Ferguson and Phil Jackson, Coach of the Michael Jordan led LA Lakers are household sporting names, but neither man can match the coaching record of today’s guest on A JOURNEY WITH BERNIE. John Buchanan delivered Queensland their first ever Cricket Sheffield Shield in his inaugural year as Qld coach. They waited 68 years for the trophy to enter The Sunshine State. 

Under his coaching tenure, the Australian Cricket Team became the first side ever to win 16 consecutive Test matches. They won Test Matches that were perceivably unwinnable. They were the first side to score 400 runs in a one day game. They were the World One Day and Test Champions at the same time. They are the only team that can be mentioned in the same breath as Don Bradman’s ‘Invincibles’ of 1948. They created their own legacy while ‘Buck’ was the coach.

How did he do it?
