サトウ ハチロー（1903年（明治36年）5月23日 – 1973年（昭和48年）11月13日）は、日本の詩人、童謡作詞家、作家。
サトウハチローにはお母さんをうたった詩が多い。詩集『おかあさん』は180万部の売り上げを記録した。今でも詩集としては日本記録である。その｢母」という字について述べた冒頭の言葉も味わい深い。天真爛漫なハチローと一緒に写っている人々はみんな心から笑っている。こちらも思わず笑がこみあげてくる、そんな人柄である。なんだかこちらも幸せな気分になって記念館をあとにした。
