#422: When Looking Good Matters More Than Doing What’s Right -Mark . Part . 21

In this episode, we do not include the graphic details of John’s death. In today’s episode, we hear what happened to John the Baptist after he courageously confronted King Herod about his sin. Herod knew John was a righteous and holy man—and he even liked listening to him. But when Herod had to choose between doing what was right and protecting his reputation, pride took over. Kids will learn that pride is more than bragging. Pride says, “I know best,” and places our desires above God’s Word. We’ll also discover why simply hearing God’s truth is not the same as believing, repenting, and obeying. What We’ll Learn John courageously spoke God’s truth—even when it was scary. Hearing God’s Word is not the same as obeying it. Pride can make us care more about looking good than doing what is right.
