在自然环境、历史文化和社会发展的影响下，荒漠居民的生活方式、身份认知以及建筑样式都与中原农民有着较大的差异。在田野调查过程中，Layla老师发现荒漠区物资匮乏、居住点分散，但也正是这样的环境，造就了当地居民豁达开放的生活态度。同时，文化交融、乡村振兴、城镇化趋势、旅游业发展等外在因素，又给当地居民的生活带来了新的冲击，游牧传统也在变迁中被不断改写。
