山本 五十六（やまもと いそろく、1884年（明治17年）4月4日 – 1943年（昭和18年）4月18日）は、日本の海軍軍。第26、27代連合艦隊司令長官。最終階級は元帥海軍大将。前線視察の際、ブーゲンビル島上空で戦死（海軍甲事件）。
上杉鷹山の「してみせて言って聞かせてさせてみる」を、後の山本五十六は「やってみせ、言って聞かせて、させてみせ、ほめてやらねば、人は動かじ。話し合い、耳を傾け、承認し、任せてやらねば、人は育たず。 やっている姿を感謝で見守って、信頼せねば、人は実らず」と変えている。この山本五十六の人間観が、高い人気と強い統率力をもたらしたのだろう。改めてこの人の伝記を読みたいと思う。
