3rd Friday Great Compline, April 6

The Order of Great Compline for the 3rd Friday of the Great Fast, when it occurs during a week of Tone 2 and on the Eve of the April 6th Commemoration of Our Father Among the Saints Eutychius, Archbishop of Constantinople.

While it has become common in Greek recension churches (Greek Orthodox, Antiochean, Melkite, Romanian, etc) to celebrate Small Compline with sections of the Akathist on Fridays, the Slavic tradition (Ruthenian, Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, etc) follows the directives of the Triodion to do Great Compline (although simpler with less singing) with the Canon of the Departed in the Tone of the Week for odes 1-5 and of the saint omitted on Saturday for odes 6-9.
