About this episode
Have you ever paused to consider how God truly wants you to show up each day? It's easy to walk into church on Sunday with a smile and a heart full of joy—or at least a glimpse of it. But ask yourself: how genuine is that moment? Is it real and life-giving? Or is it just a performance, a mask worn for the crowd, for appearances? God doesn't need the mask. He sees behind it. He knows the truth that we often try to hide, even from ourselves. No more words.
Jesus said it plainly in Matthew 5, in the Beatitudes—a blueprint for living "God's way." It's a call to something deeper than words or surface-level faith.

Matthew 5:1-12 (NIV)
5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
The Beatitudes
He said:
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Each blessing challenges us to live beyond the façade.
We're not just called to show up in church and give lip service. We're called to be salt and light in the world. Salt preserves and flavors; light pushes back darkness and reveals the path.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)
13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
This is a disruptive invitation—to act with radical honesty, kindness, and purpose that cannot be ignored.

1:00To keep it simple strategy, everyday solutions, to live, love, and impact. Well, I really do pray that you are safe, that you are warm, that you do have electricity. If not, you're listening to this episode a couple days behind, and you're like, I'm always on time. Guess what? It's always a perfect time when God is at the helm. Sometimes we try to control everything. We want everything to go our way, in our timing, and sometimes we have to take a step back and say, Lord, I trust you. I trust the process. And it's hard to do. I mean, have you ever paused to consider how God truly wants you to show up each day? It's easy to walk into church on Sunday with a smile and a heart full of joy, or at least a glimpse of it. But then you got to ask yourself, how genuine is that moment? Is it real in life-giving? Or is it just a performance, a mask worn for the crowd, for appearances? It's kind of like you're driving in. You're like, get out of my way. I'm going to church.
2:03How does that even make sense? Yet we then go into church and think we have everything under control and then we leave and we say goodbye and, oh, have a blessed week and all of this and you get behind the wheel now. Now it's like, just get out of my way. What are you doing? Is that how you flip the script? Be honest. God doesn't need the mask. He sees behind it. He knows the truth that we often try to hide, even from ourselves. No more words. And I'm not just talking about the words in the Bible. That's not what I'm referring to. It's about the words that we speak. They fall flat. Why do you think that is? Jesus said it plainly in Matthew 5 in the Beatitudes, right? This was the beginning of the sermon on the Mount. And it's a blueprint for living God's way. What do you think we do here at Creature Now? You want to walk in your everyday God's way. It's not about doing it Christy hands way.
3:06Yeah, I've got lessons that I've learned and I can teach you strategies and tools. I can help you overcome the overwhelm. I've got great ideas, some that really work and some, well, maybe they worked in the moment, but they won't work now. But it's not my blueprint. God has a blueprint for you. And I think it's about time that we start digging deeper into where God wants us to go, not where we think we should go. I've been doing a lot of traveling lately. I'm on the road every single week. It's going to be non-stop here probably for the next four or five months. And guess what? That's okay. It'll give me time specifically with my Heavenly Father. I don't always have noise on. Believe it or not, I don't always listen to podcast. I don't have my candle playing in the background. Sometimes I even turn off the music. Why? Because we're
4:07called to something deeper than words or surface level faith. And maybe you've been walking that road lately saying, Oh, I know I'm doing good. I show up at work on time. I support my spouse. I love my kids. I provide. Oh, that's great. There's nothing wrong with that. I do the laundry. Hallelujah to that, right? You get the laundry done. It may not get folded, but it's clean. That's the reality of our life. But God wants us to take it deeper. Not just look it. Well, here it is. You look good, but who really are you? See God knows. In Matthew 5, it starts there. Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him and he began to teach them. He said, Blessed are the porn spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.
5:13Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. It goes on in verse 11 and 12. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Remember, this is Jesus' talking. Rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. My friend, each blessing challenges us to live beyond the facade, to live beyond the words. No more words. We're not just called to show up in church and give lip service. We're called to
6:15be salt and light in the world. Do you know what they use salt for? Back in the old and old and olden days, we've got to add a few olden on that. Salt preserves. It also flavors. Light pushes back darkness and reveals the path. If you go on and read in Matthew 5 verses 13 through 16, it says this. You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. This is a disruptive invitation. Hear it loud and clear.
7:21It is to act with radical honesty, kindness and purpose that cannot be ignored. No more words. That's your challenge. It's not about endless prayers spoken without action or hallowed promises whispered in quiet moments. It's about doing. It's about living out your faith in a way that's unquestionable. It's time to toss a mask aside and live as Jesus did with authenticity, courage and love that demands attention and not attention to you. But when people see you, they know God. There's a difference. And I know you know that difference because you know those people that you have seen in your life that act like, well, they are God or they're sit right next to him as if they are God. And they act like they have all the answers.
8:25They make themselves God themselves, right? Maybe not the capital G, but close enough. It's not about who we are, but the reflection that someone sees in us when they look at us. Who do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see yourself? Or do you see God? I want to encourage your heart today. Take aim. Action ignites motivation. That's what propels momentum. When you act on what God calls you to do, your motivation isn't the hard part. It's the result. And if you're taking aim, God will do the rest, but you're not meant to sit on the sidelines. It's time for you to get in the game. Who are you rooting for now? I don't care if your team has not made it to the championship games that are going to be played today. And your team may not make
9:30it to the Super Bowl. And in all honesty, God doesn't care who makes it to the Super Bowl. It's a fun thing to talk about. It's a great way to live out your purpose here on earth. And some of those athletes do that and some of them don't. Some of them fall a long way down because they get trapped in their own masquerade ball. It's all about the words. It's all about look at me, me, me, me, me, W-I-F-M. What's in it for me? Don't miss what God wants you to see. He wants you to see him. No more words. All action. Take aim. Action's fuel faith and fire up your spirit. Who doesn't need that spark to keep going, especially when the world drags us down or doubts creep in. Let this be your daily commitment. No more words. No more pretending. Show up real.
10:41Show up bold. Show up as the salt and light that God made you to be. Who you are and who you are becoming. When you do, you don't just change your own life. The transformation, the caterpillar who becomes a butterfly. But you change the world around you. You get to impact the world that you touch and that's exactly what God desires. So today and tomorrow, as a Lord blesses put down the mask. Take it off. No more hiding. Speak less. Live more. Let your actions tell the story that words never could. Go on peace. Be present. Be incredible. Be you. I love you so very much. I cannot wait to see you on the other side. Blessing tugs and lots and lots of love. We'll talk to you real soon. Have a glorious blessed week.
