3 Suspects in Custody After Midfield Shootings

Police in Midfield, Alabama have three suspects in custody after two connected shootings Friday night that left a woman and an 18-year-old man injured. Officers responded around 10.30 p.m. to the 500-block of Karen Street for reports of the woman shot in the leg, then learned of the second victim nearby on BY Williams Senior Drive. The woman underwent surgery at UAB Hospital, though her current condition remains unknown, while the man was treated there and released directly into police custody. The other two suspects, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, were caught near the scene and charged with aggravated assault, criminal, mischief, and reckless endangerment before heading to juvenile detention with more charges possible. Police continue investigating and urged tips from the public to help wrap up the case.
