00The Bleacher Report app is your destination for sports. Right now, the NBA is heating up, March Manus is here, and MLB is almost back. Every day there's a new headline, a new highlight, a new moment you've got to see for yourself. That's why I stay locked in with the Bleacher Report app. For me, it's about staying connected to my sports. I could follow the teams I care about, get real-time scores, breaking news, and highlights all in one place. Download the Bleacher Report app today so you never miss a moment. We never got an answer to the question of a brief period of time where I did crack.

00Why blow torts was required to ignite it? I don't know, I never did crack, man. You got me on there. I'm surprised you weren't in the basement with us. I don't know where I was. I probably don't equally something stupid somewhere else at the same time. I did it with the people you were familiar with, the people you partied without occasion. I don't think I would have done that. One guy I always bought his little propane tank, a little blowtorch, and he would fire it up that way. We asked Chad Daniels and Colleen in there for the crack, right? Everybody sit down. Chad Daniels can be the funny bone this weekend in Omaha, Colleen will also be at the funny bone this weekend. She will? She's there all the damn time. She runs the place, right? Then put their headphones on and get settled. Hi Chad. Check, check. You're all brother. Oh yeah. Well, thanks for having me back.

02Well, first of all, Chad, I'll come around a few times, sir. You're in Cansea last night, right? That's correct. What time? The Car Leab Kansas City. Probably about 10. Okay. What time's your year? One, two, rolled in, just after 12.30. Yeah. Are you able to get to sleep right away? No, I watch the pit. Okay. That's really, that's a real soothing show. Yeah, really, really puts you to bed. It's about an emergency room where all hell breaks loose at every second. Hey, every second. So I normally go to bed with my ears ringing. It's pretty good. All right. What's the corral one? There's a Steve Corral series. Well, the new one, the Rooster. Rooster. Yeah. I've heard good things about that. Rory Scoville makes a guest appearance as a cop on there. Rory Scoville's real face. He's fought. You know what? I was gonna ask you about that because I've seen the reels of Rory. I never seen live, but he's really funny. Right. And when he comes in as a sheriff, I'm thinking, that's that comedian I really like. So good for him. Yeah. He's fantastic.

03Please tell me he's a good dude. He is a very good guy. We never met him, right? No, I have not. He just relocated to Denver. Okay. Fantastic. Got a family little girl. He's funny. I can show you, brother. I don't know what I'm speaking about. Bad segue. But I heard you got engaged, brother. That's true. All right. Thank you. Now she called. She called. What about a month ago? Push. It was back in January. It was right up the first of the year. What did she say? What did she say? What did she say? Well, we had the tape. No. We didn't bring up marriage. We knew you lived together. Yeah. What's the ring presented? Christmas? No, no, no. The ring was presented. So I surprised her. And she's from Spokane, Washington. Right. And she was out there visiting her dad and her mom and her stepmom. And I decided I was going to go out there. But here's the thing. So I've been married before. Yes, you have. And after my first divorce, we said some very truthful, maybe unkind things to one another.

05And I haven't lied since then because I got to, I slept like a baby that night. Because I got everything off my chest. To your ax. To my ax. And I have not lied since that day. So this was really hard to trick her. I really had to like play in between the lines where she goes, what are you going to do today? And I go, well, I think I'm going to actually going to leave the house to watch her move. I'll show. But I want to get back to line thing real quickly, too, because apparently, I guess telling truth all the time helps and works. Yeah, you'd be surprised. So I think that's great. I know you're a self-help guy. I think it's a great idea. The lesson is, you know, it's going to be uncomfortable for a while. But then also, it's like, of course, it's going to be confrontation. It's going to be confrontational right away if you tell somebody something they don't want to hear. But if they find out a month later, then it's even worse. So why not just deal with it in the moment? So you find that you'll curtail activities that you feel you have to lie about. Well, just on this situation. Okay. Now, this is a white lie. Because you're doing something.

05This lie means something good is going to happen. I don't even know if it was a white lie because I told the truth. I said, I'm going to leave the house to watch your movie, which is true because I'm going to be in the airplane. Okay. I needed a reason my phone would be off for three hours for the flight. Is that lying by omission? I don't. I mean, it is like a sneaky. It felt a little dirty, even though it wasn't a lie. What's your reason for the most domestic flights? You can still text on a flight. Right. So her mom has dementia and she was visiting her. And so just in case she had a rough visit and she called my phone. And so I wanted to make sure she there was a reason for my phone to what was the reason? Yeah. Well, I told her I'd be at the movie. Got it. Yeah. A long movie apparently. Yeah. But all right. Where were you flying from? I was flying from Minneapolis to Spokane. Yeah. So then you got to stop in between. No direct flight. Okay. So then I get there and I'm in the hotel room and she goes in Spokane. So I'm like, you know, you don't do the, you don't do the locator.

06No, we don't have that. All right. Okay. I haven't even turned that off. They're banging somebody else. They say I don't want, was it life 360? Yeah. You want off the life 360 means you're sleeping with somebody else. Red flag. That's why I've never asked. Yeah. I've never asked for her to turn it on because I don't want her to turn it off. Yeah. Why did I show that for a fact? By the way, they asked that. So. Okay. Yeah. Remember that. Remember that guys. If you're on a location out with your wife and your kids and the wife says she wants off of it. That means they're banging somebody else. Yeah. Sorry to blow this great beautiful story. Go ahead. Tell me this great beautiful story. I'm very happy for you. But go ahead. No, thank you. So then I, you know, get out there. I'm in the hotel room. She goes, oh, what are you going to do the rest of the day? And I go, well, I think I'm going to go for a walk. Probably get some food. And then I had her dad take her to one of her favorite restaurants in Spokane. And then I was just outside waiting. Oh, my God. And then she said, you see the parking lot. She pulls in the car. And you're just standing there?

06I don't know. She actually had to walk downstairs. And so then I was there. And, and man, I've never seen her look so dumbfounded. It was kind of awesome because she's very smart. Engagement by ambush. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Wow. Well, now you have to say, yes, I flew here. Yeah. Now, what was your first line? Did she, did she think that, because you could be just surprising her. But she know there's a ring coming at that point. Well, I, I don't think so because she, when she tells the story, she says she feels like she was medically in shock. And so I told her, she goes, what are you doing here? And I go, well, I told you that I was going to get some food and I was going to go for a walk. Well, but I suppose we should probably go for the walk first. And then we walked down this little, she had this, when we started dating, she still lived in Spokane. And she would walk this river walk. And she'd go up on this dirt mound and look at the river and just kind of chill out. That's a very popular proposal place. Yeah. Yeah, dirt mound. A dirt mound. No, there's a, there's a pause. That's all right. Oh, sure.

06Yeah, yeah. I know the walk that you're talking about, I used to live in Spokane. Yep. In fact, I remember when, when she was first here. And I said, you know, I was on the radio in Spokane. And it turns out that that was before she was born. Of course she walked out. Well, to be fair, I've done a lot of stuff before she was born. Oh, by the way, remember to listen to me. We haven't mentioned your fiancé's name in this whole bit. Yeah, Kelsey Cook. Yes. She's been on the show in the studio and on the phone. We just forgot. We're talking. We're not mentioning her name for the audience. Yeah. And she is, she's 14 years younger. So when we got engaged, she did, she said to me, she goes, well, we met each other so late in life. I just hope you live to be a hundred. And I said, if you think I'm going to spend the last days of my life bangin' an 86 year old. You are crazy. Good answer. Bring in my nurse. Did you set a date yet? No, I didn't. It ate over yet.

07Oh, there's more. Yeah, she hasn't said yet. Yeah, she hasn't. No, you need to ask you yet. Yeah. So just it went up on the dirt mound and told her some stuff. Yeah. And then it was a dirt mound had black jeans on. So I had to hover without touching my knee to the ground. Wow. And so I'm like sayin' all this stuff. And I realized my quad strength isn't what it used to be. I'm 51 years old. So like leaning down to the ground. No, I'm like in a full lunge. No, my foot will tell you. Without your knees touching. That's tough. Yeah, you need a few months of Pilates class to pull that up. Absolutely. Legs are shaking like a dog is going to the bathroom. And I'm trying to be romantic. It's crazy. Anybody get a shot of this? Yeah. I had actually followed us like a creepo. But ended up getting a beauty. So this is crazy. Did you know he was following you? I didn't. Oh, he didn't. So it was supposed to be overcast. Like a creepo. Yeah, and it was supposed to be really cold.

07Okay. And the sun, no kidding. We start the walk. The clouds split. The sun comes out. So her dad got this really actually gorgeous picture-esque. It's the river, the sunset. It was unbelievable. I think I saw it on your social media. Did you post it? Yeah. That was a great shot. I was told I have no choice but to post it. I would think that you would wanted the guy to creep on you to get the photo. Absolutely. No, no, no. Actually, I was very thankful. Yeah. Okay. Like a creepo. And she said, yes, that's crazy. Because you're right. It isn't like you just showed up, you know, across town and surprised you. Right. She knew you had to fly there. You went to great lengths. Yeah. But there's a lot of guys listening now that are planning it engaged for the next couple of months. They're screwed. Yeah. No, I don't think so. I think that any heartfelt, I mean, I think it's what you say when you're doing it. Right. You know, truly.

07And my thing was, I wanted to do it in Spokane because I knew that'd be important. She could go see her mom and tell her. Right. And, you know, there's all this stuff. My daughter's birthday is one day. My grandma's birthday is two days later. And I always thought like that day in between. I go, what's... What important thing is going to happen here? And so that's when I did it. Well, you did it. I'll say she'll forget. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's why you did that. It's like you put a lot of effort into that. Sure. Sure. And you make it other guys look bad. So I don't think so. As a result. I bought a real diamond. So I... What a mistake that was. I didn't even realize you could get a diamond grown in a laboratory. Yeah. You get it now. Bigger and cheaper. And it looks the same. Well, it is a diamond. They can't tell. It's a diamond. Right. Yeah. No one can tell the difference except one of those little weird... Oh, yeah. Tiny telescope. You put a monical on. Yeah. Yeah. Did you ever think once you got divorced, you've been divorced for a while now, haven't you? Yeah.

07Okay. Did you ever get married again? I actually campaigned against it for most years. I believe Tyler's still in that phase. Sure. I'm a little older than him. It doesn't show. Yeah. No. Yeah. I think a lot of guys have a little courage after that. Yeah. Hello. Yeah. Hello. Oh, right. Thank you, Colleen. Appreciate back in me there. Why would I want to go through that? Yeah. That's what I said too. And I had kids that were still in high school at the time. My daughter was in middle school. And so it's like, you know, your focus is, I'm going to get these kids to where they need to be. And you and other. Do you have any long term relationships besides Kelsey before this? Yeah. I had one other. But it was, it was pretty off and on. Yeah. It was just kind of out of convenience, I would say. Yeah. I think we'd both agree on that. Right. Not just. Okay. No one needs to fly halfway across the country to surprise. No, I don't, I don't think so. A lot of bang maybe. Yeah. Back to the day. I'm sure. So where is it? Is it a big wedding? It's her second wedding too, by the way.

07Correct. Yeah. Is it a big wedding? No, not a big wedding. We're going to have. You have to be like one degree separated from us. So we're talking. It's our destination. It's going to be up in Minneapolis or in Spokane. That's going to be in Spokane. So her arm can come. And it's going to be, you know, siblings, parents. Perfect. Children. Perfect. My daughter just got engaged in Japan. Oh, nice. Yeah. On top of Mount Fuji. That'd be pretty romantic. Right. They. They found some dirt mound. Yeah. Hey, this counts as a mount. Yeah. They heard a boyfriend were there on vacation with a couple other couples are there. But she was surprised. She had no idea. I mean, she. She knew he eventually didn't engage, but he did it in Japan. How pissed were the other women in the couples? Uh. Hey. Where's our. I don't think they're married couples. They're just couples. You're right. Oh, man. That's true. It's so all I have to ask her about that. Yeah. Because you know, all women. Especially that age. Because she's like, she's 20, 22 now. Now Colleen. Yeah.

07Oh, how long ago were you divorced? We've asked Colleen this question a long, long time. Yeah. Long, long. 1989. All right. I'm guessing you've received marriage proposals in between. Have you. That's really sweet of you to say Todd. Oh, you're quite a catch. No. No. No. So you must have been up front with these guys and said, I'm not intending to get married again. Because I can't believe someone would oppose you. Well, I think you have to have quite a few dates before you even. Think about it. Yeah. Married. Again. And I'm quite happy with my same time next year, friends. Yeah. Yeah. She got those guys running around. Sure. Same time next year. It seems like something like a drunken Ron White would have done at some point. No. No, we didn't get married. Oh, he probably has. Yeah. Or maybe twice in a row. Yeah. She would have to say that. I don't think marriage was part of his thoughts. That's what he wanted to. Probably true. But we know that famous story. My dad's favorite. My dad's favorite story. That was a good one. That was a good one. That was a good one. That was a good one.

07The Ron White story. We got time now. We got time now. We got time now. I can't see. You got to see the real order to make a sense. We got to tell Chad off here. He's a romantic hair. Totally.
