Paid for by Virginians for fair elections. Well, winds have everything to do with our temperatures this weekend into the upcoming weekend, not unusual for the early spring time. Water temperatures are still cool, just 60-65, coming off cold winter. Of course, we had water temperatures down in the 50s for the number of weeks, down in the low 50s for a while there in early February when we had our really cold snaps. So when you get the winds to shift to out of the east off the Atlantic like they did yesterday, you get the abrupt temperature changes as we'd given you the first alert about it, went from 89 for a high temperature on Monday to just 68 yesterday, which occurred before sunrise.

1:04Most of the day was in the low to mid 60s, if not lower. In fact, down into the upper 50s by late afternoon. Well, we had some moisture with that wind. It was mainly in the form of mist and drizzle and very light rain. The rainfall amounts were insignificant. And while it offered some short term relief from the wildfire risk, just for the reason the humidity and the mistyness, if you will, it certainly didn't do anything to get our drought. And there is no significant rain in the future anytime soon for Jacksonville, Northeastern, Florida. It would appear. But we will see a wind shift to a more easterly direction as we go through the day today. So temperatures will recover some, and we should even manage a few breaks in the clouds this afternoon. So we'll have a wide range in temperatures from 60 to 65 at the beaches this afternoon to at least 70 to 75 west of I-95. So quite a bit warmer. The more inland you go, down into the upper 50s tonight, and then much warmer tomorrow and Friday as winds become more southerly tomorrow. And out of the west and southwest for Friday temperatures will respond. And near 80 tomorrow, still cooler at the beaches, but warmer

2:05overall. And Friday is very warm all the way across the board, all the way to the beaches into the upper 80s. Thanks for gusty west winds. But yet another cold front rolls across the area. Early Saturday morning, and there'll be another surge of northeastern winds. So the warmest part of the day on Saturday will be early in the morning with temperatures that manage to get into the low 70s. And then the surge of northeastern winds will eventually increase, bring cloudiness. And the temperatures will fall into the 60s in the afternoon. And then it stays windy and rather cool for Sunday with highs in the low 70s inland. But only in the 60s into the beaches. And when you get these strong onshore wind events like we had yesterday and are having today, and we'll again over the weekend a very high rip current risk. And rough season surf, it will not be unfortunately a beach weekend for the area on Saturday and Sunday. With all your weather all the time, I'm Chief Meteorologist Mike Burish from the CBS 47.
