0:00Welcome to the St. of the Day Podcast, a service of good Catholic and the Catholic company. Join us each day as we share the story of a unique saint in three minutes or less. Today's saint is Saint Ismus. Saint Ismus, who lived in the first century, is the name church tradition has given to the Good Thief, one of the two criminals who were crucified alongside Jesus Christ on Good Friday. All we know about Saint Ismus is what is mentioned of him in the Gospels. Now, one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us. In other, Saint Ismus, however, we're beating him, said in reply, Have you no fear of God for you are subject to the same kind of nation? And indeed, we have been condemned justly for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes. But this man has done nothing criminal. Then Saint Ismus, as an expression of his faith in Christ, as the Messiah said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus replied to Saint Ismus, Amen. I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise,

1:02Luke chapter 23, verses 39 to 42. The feast day of Saint Ismus is March 25th. As we celebrate both the Annunciation and Saint Ismus, I invite you to reflect on the crucifixion. Saint Ismus, pray for us. Thank you for tuning in. This is a Good Catholic podcast. If you liked what you heard, check us out at goodcatholic.com and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
