From the moment you book to the moment you had home, we're here to help things run smoothly. Because a great trip starts with the right support. And hey, a good playlist doesn't hurt either. It's the Vertal Equinox today. Happy spring is spring officially arrives astronomically. That means the sun's rays are most directly over the equator today. And we have about equal number of hours of daylight and nighttime. And now of course our days growing longer as we head through spring and up to summer. But here before we know it and the heat will as well. And we're going to heat it up the next few days after a little bit of a cold snap here the last few days. As we dove below average on our temperatures. We'll now get to about where we ought to be this time of year today.
1:02And then warm it up over the weekend into early next week. Great weather for outdoor activities. The air will still be very dry. So even though the temperatures warm, it will be quite comfortable. And we'll drop off nicely at night. The one problem will be the wildfire risk. Yes, we got some decent rain on Sunday and Monday. But we're drying out fast, especially this time of year. And now with a west wind, a dry wind, low humidity. And sunshine and warmer temperatures. The wildfire risk is quite concerning through the weekend. Despite that period of rainfall that we had earlier this week. Just simply didn't do much for the long term drought. So that is a concern. The beaches look to be fine spring breakers. A little bit upset about the weather. It'll last few days while nicer today and downright warm over the weekend. There still be a bit of a sea breeze today keeping temperatures cooler at the beaches. Topping out mainly in the mid to upper 60s. But west winds. Winds out of the west. That's an offshore wind will allow that warm weather to get all the way to the beaches over the weekend. Likely making a push toward 80 degrees. Both Saturday and Sunday.
2:02Serve about two to three feet. Mostly two footers. Rip current risk low to moderate. But remember there can be rip currents at any time. And there are fewer lifeguards this time of year. Water temperatures are only in the low 60s. Not particularly nice for a dip yet. And looking for those warm temperatures through the weekend. Sunburn time will be down around 15 to 20, maybe 25 minutes. But have that sunscreen handy. Still early in the season. But you certainly can get sunburn this time of year. Of course you're around here in Jacksonville and northeastern Florida. So a pretty good looking weekend. We'll start off the new work week. Very warm as well. Well into the 80s on Monday. But a wind shift. The cold front moves through the area Monday night and early Tuesday. It takes winds out of the northeast. Stuff the cool Atlantic. And that will certainly cool the temperatures on Tuesday. Although it only looks to be for a brief time. Before the warm weather returns. Middle end end of next week. Have a great and safe weekend. Take care of yourself. And one another with all you weather all the time. I'm chief meteorologist Mike Burish. From the CBS 47. If Fox 30 action news.
