#271 Surviving to Thriving w/ Christopher Willis!

In this episode, we’re joined by the incredible Christopher “Life” Willars!

This was a powerful conversation. Chris takes us through his journey from being a young, aimless man who made one mistake and was sentenced to 144 years in prison in 2003 for robbery — to ultimately being released after serving nearly 17 years. He shares how he used his natural leadership and resilience to survive and grow behind bars.

Since his release, Chris and his wife have launched Lasting Layers of Beauty, a cosmetic vocational school outside Atlanta, GA. He also founded a nonprofit while still incarcerated and now works as a content creator, public speaker, and advocate for prisoners’ rights and mental health. On top of that, he creates hilarious and eye-opening videos about life behind bars and the wild situations that can arise.
