ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: Please note Michael’s internet connection was rubbish. It cut out twice, and there was a significant lag, meaning the conversation was very difficult (trying to avoid speaking over each other), and the sound quality wasn’t great in the last 18 minutes. Apologies. In this episode, I speak with Michael Gray Griffith, a former playwright turned activist, who shares his journey from the world of theatre to advocating for free speech and freedom of choice during the COVID-19 plandemic. Michael describes how his refusal to segregate audiences based on vaccination status led to his exclusion from the arts community and inspired him to create Cafe Locked Out, a platform focused on telling the untold stories of Australians affected by pandemic restrictions. We explore how art, community, and activism intersect in his work, especially as he documents stories of resilience, loss, and unity from those feeling alienated by mainstream narratives.
