Gina is being stalked by a former friend. They met in 2013 after an article Gina wrote went viral, and they became roommates in 2021. Gina soon realized her friend had mental health issues that made her feel unsafe, prompting Gina to break her lease and move out. This only escalated the obsessive behavior. The stalker has made countless death threats, harasses her online, and accuses her of being in a cult, even causing Gina to lose a book deal.
