1:00He had one more pick tonight with SMU minus the three at Florida State tonight. But you were five and three for the week so far, Emory, which is fantastic. We will quickly go through all of Emory's bets from week one in college football for transparency reasons. And to talk about the games, to talk about the players and the NFL draft prospects that really showed up in these games. And then we'll get to Emory's week two bets now that he's on a roll with college football season rolling. Emory, of course, is the great Emory Hunt. You see him all over CBS HQ. 2:00I'm Ross Tucker former NFL offensive line. And now I get a chance to call an NFL game every Sunday for CBS. I'll do a bunch of games on the radio as well. Sadly, this will be my first year, I think since ever, not doing a single college game. I think every year I've done at least some college games, but I'll have to live by carousel through Emory this year. And certainly was living by carousel through you Emory over the weekend. It started with whatever night that was Thursday night or Friday night. You laid 24 and a half with Miami. That sounded like a lot at Stanford. It wasn't they won 45 to six as your guy Darian Mensa, who you have predicted will win the Heisman Emory. Look fantastic. I mean, it looked like it was practice for him and Malachi Tony. You could probably see a clean sweep. And if for if you're a savvy better out there, you might as well lay or go and take

3:01Mentor to win the Heisman Tony to win a bullet in the call Malachi Tony and Miami to win the national championship clean sweep right there. Because you can see all of that happening with how good they look versus Stanford. Yes, it will stand for but man, Mensa, he's not rattled. He's not under the rest. That's why he is my QB one in the 2027 NFL draft class. And we said that's all throughout the summer. He did it at Duke, Tulane. And now he's doing it at Miami. All right, let's talk. Listen, I know you love Mensa. Those people that have been listening to the show or watching for weeks. You've heard Emory talk about Mensa a few times. We haven't talked that much about Malachi Tony. Goodness gracious, Emory. I mean, listen, there's some other good receivers, including Jeremiah Smith. Yet you think Tony's going to win the bullet in the call? Yeah, because listen, you know how these things go wrong. When you have a team that's winning in conjunction with a guy that's making these wild plays.

4:02It only puts in we know it puts you in position for the highest men. But man, it'll be a tight race between him and Jeremiah Smith. But it'll be hard to ignore Malachi Tony. I mean, this man had the easiest 200 yard receiving game that I've ever seen. And it's fascinating when you know someone. I would say there's probably a bunch of players I could describe this to. But Malachi, the first one that comes to my mind is Gail Sears with regard to an awesome player. That just knows he's awesome. You know, like Gail Sears knew he was the man. And it played like that out there on the field Malachi Tony knows he's the best player on the field. And it's unquestion how he goes up there with ease like, I'm going to make this play. I don't care if I'm not the prototypical height weight speed guy. I'm just a dynamic football player. That's why I really love about this game. Yeah, I mean, first of all, it's a good thing I don't do college games anymore. Because if I did it my amy game and Emory, you'll appreciate this.

5:05Every time he made another big play, I would say 2020 Tony has done it again. I never thought of that. Now, but you have had to use that. Are you serious? I did tie that connection. I listen, that was a great pull. Especially because it's so dynamic big play after big play. I'd be like, Tony, Tony, Tony has done it again. And you know, it feels good. Oh, man, certain songs just like are in your head from when you're 10 years old or 12 years older, whatever it is. And they're never going anywhere. But yeah, he's certainly fun to watch. The fact that he graduated college at a high school early and he's still only 18. I mean, he's doing this against like 2223 year old guys. That's usually a good sign when you're that much of a prodigy. I would say fastening, fastening player. We got to keep it moving though. Ball State. I can't believe you lost this one. If you took ball state plus 50 and a half,

6:09what a line, by the way, by draft games. What a line. Ohio State won 56 to three. Our 510 250 pound quarterback, Caldrick Luster. He looked fun running around. There's one run. He trucked the DB and like ran right through him. I was enjoying it. We just needed some more points from him. We just needed at least one more score. And we were the cast's bet. But I'm glad everyone got a chance to enjoy ball state quarterback, Caldrick Luster, man. This a fun player to watch. Amory, unbelievable job on parleton state. Taken FCS program on the road on the money line. And they won outright 20 to 13. Take a bow, my friend. That's impressive. Talon Heinz 57180 is the pro prospect. He had 184 yards rushing in week zero in there when in that game. And top that by going over two bills against FBS bowling green.

7:12This is a tremendous tailback. And I told guys and I'll say it again, Talton state made it known. They want to go FBS. They're showing you why they'll be in either the pack 12 or Mount West. But at least 2028, 2029 at the latest. I would say even conference USA is a given. But I think they're setting their sights on pack 12 Mountain West. Wow. All right. Then you got Oregon against Boise. It's funny. I didn't realize Oregon. I forgot Oregon was laying 24 and a half. Boise took it to him. I mean, that that Boise was physical. I was so impressed by Boise in that game. Kudos to Oregon. They get it done. Dante Moore. They won 3427. But you laid the points with the duck. Emory. It did not happen. They barely win by a touchdown. I have to tip my cap to Boise state because I thought this wasn't that Boise state team. But it looks like they are once again. And with Dante Moore, you saw how he's able to handle pressure.

8:15I think that's still a work in progress. But you like how he can throw the football vertically down the field, which helped save them in this game to the carrying more. The receiver had the nice touchdown. We hit the brakes and had the two Boise state defenders run into each other. And you score. I think that right there was a game break. But man, you want to see more from Oregon, especially with the way we were talking about Oregon leading to the season. All right. Then LSU laid you laid 10 and a half. I was a little skeptical of that laying 10 and a half. They won 51 to 10. They beat clubs in 51 to 10 unbelievable. Emory. Listen, LSU's defense was tremendous. That was a major question I had coming in like, what would the defense look like? They look outstanding on the pick six. I swear 29 for LSU just kept getting bigger as the play was going on. They just totally dominated Clemson from start. And they were running the football. They look like a physical football team on both sides.

9:16And smoking Sam Levit man. Listen, when he made the cutback move for the touchdown, you are like you could he's probably going to have a statue by week three out there the way they was going crazy in that stadium. All right. Now this game I'm very glad. I mean, you picked the right games by the way to bet on. That's one thing that's important for people to know. Emory picks the biggest games every week. So the games that you're going to be watching that you want to. I mean, these are all the games I was watching. You know, Oregon boys, the LSU Clemson. And then Western Michigan at Michigan. You took the Broncos getting 27 and a half Emory and they really could have would have should have won the game outright. Two things, Ross. One, the game I was calling earlier that day. My mother's sacred heart had a similar situation where my mother scored the go ahead touchdown with under two minutes left. What a minute 30 left. Sacred heart gets the ball marching down the field on fourth and I think eight or fourth and 10.

10:16They throw a pass. The receiver catches it gets hit and falls at the line to gain with the naked eye real time. I thought he crossed the line again. They go and review it and it was a long review. And so we're waiting for the call and then always see is the mom of side line start celebrating. It was like, well, I guess they must have said he didn't make the line again. They moved the back a little bit and we looked at the replay was like, OK. So mom with one of the game on that then later that night to see a hell Mary completed for the game winner after they didn't complete the previous hell Mary and they said they had one second left on the clock. I I just was like, wow, you know, that's crazy. But Western Michigan I knew was a good football team and we talked about this during the during the summer where we were talking about the 2014 Plale, how Western Michigan and because I was talking about their running back buckly, like, man, Western Michigan was a team you watched last year. Like, you know, they put if there were a 12 seed in a or 16 seed in a 2014

11:16Plale, they would give a team a problem in the first round and they gave Michigan a problem right there in week one week one. Couple of quick thoughts. Number one, I appreciated the transparency from the big 10 with the video. They released the statement, but also like the live communication of the replay official and why they put a second back on the clock. I'm not sure I agree, but I at least understand where they're coming from. And I think that's why what the ACC does with you being able to hear the communication and the transparency in real time is actually super helpful. I'd also say, you know, that notwithstanding, I'm huge on personal responsibility and accountability. Western Michigan, I wanted them to win so badly for those kids, would have been the biggest win of their life. You got knocked the ball down. I mean, it's incredible catch by the Michigan kid incredible catch,

12:19but somebody still also knocked the ball down. They still had another chance to win, even though Michigan got a second left. Next, Ole Miss, you were laying the six and a half with Ole Miss against Louisville. Ole Miss offense came through. Trinidad Chambers, your guy came through their defense just in. They won 41 38, but you lost the bet. Hey, but this is all about Trinidad Chambers and Lincoln Keenholes. Boy, they were playing the same game. I listen, Louisville and Ole Miss look like similar teams. I'm more excited about Louisville in the ACC based on what I saw last night in a loss. And I said this last night on CBS Sports HQ in studio, it was like, hey, if you looked at Ole Miss, I mean, you looked at Louisville and Michigan, who was ranked 16th and who was ranked 24th, you think the world's were reversed and I expected to show itself in a new AP poll. Oh, good point. All right, then Notre Dame was constant last night. You laid the 20 and a half with Notre Dame was not looking like a very good bet

13:21in the first half as Wisconsin was right there. I thought Wisconsin looked like the better team in the first half. And then the second half, everything totally changed. Notre Dame 141-13, you hit on another bet. Funny because before the game, we were watching this studio and Wisconsin ran out there. And that was my first time seeing those uniforms. I told my guy, Chris Williams, I was like, man, Notre Dame by 40. Just on the strip, there was constantly those ugly uniforms, right? And then Wisconsin went out there and was looking solid in the first half. Like you said, didn't it look like Washington, Turkey in the second half with those uniforms? It's like I thought. Notre Dame defense saved the day. All right, so Emory was five and three on the week so far. He's got SMU laying the three points tonight at Florida State. We can touch on that one next week, but we got to get to next week's games right now. Don't go anywhere. I got to pay some bills real quick. We made it. We made it everybody.

Oklahoma is at Michigan and it looks like you're laying the six points with the sooners not expecting a Michigan bounce back. Not at all, man. You got Vennables, defense. You got Oklahoma's offense. And I was on 92.3. The fan in Cleveland. You've been on that show. I was on the morning show as well. And I was on the show that you've been on. And they asked me who's my top five quarterbacks in the in College football right now.

16:30I was like, well, I can't remember off the top of my head. I do know my number, my top three was. A Mensa then Dante more than Trinidad, Chamble is. And I couldn't figure out who number four. Then after the show looked at it. Is John Matier and John Matier. To me looks like. Back press got when he was at Mississippi state. I love how we saw him throw a touch in this in this last game. game. He still has the rocket arm. He still has the mobility. Oklahoma with a healthy giant material is a legit wagon pun intended. I liked them. The lady six points with mission. All right. Emory's laying with the sooner six points at Michigan. Let's get another Oklahoma team involved. Oklahoma State. Oregon has to play at Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State looked horrendous against Tulsa. I was shocked by that, Emory. Yeah. I was shocked. They looked bad. I thought it'd be a back and forth game. But there's a reason why we were kind of cool on, you know, the passing attack, even though they brought a lot

17:32of what, you know, Coach Morris had at North Texas. They brought a lot of that over to Oklahoma State. But it was like, you know, Tulsa, pretty solid team in the American this year. So I will lay the 22 and a half points with Oregon. I feel like the ducks will respond to rebound. All right. Emory starting off week two with multiple favorites, laying the points. Now we'll go the other way. Kentucky is getting 10 and a half against Alabama. And you're taking them memory. Right. Because this was a game last week. I thought Youngstown State having the game already played both Brunhard, the Wultipate and award winner, which is the FCS Highs and Trophy. I felt like Youngstown State was going to keep this one competitive. Kentucky really dominated this ball game. I was completely shocked at how they started out. Because this was a game like last year or previous years, Kentucky would be in the dog fighting till late. But they really dominated. And I think this Kentucky team now has some confidence going into Alabama playing a young quarterback. So this one will be a lot closer, which indicates a 10-2-half

18:36point spread. But I will trust Kentucky to kind of keep it even under that number closer under that number. I will get a very good game with the Wildcats and Crimson Tigers. Well, I'm hoping for a very good game in pretty clearly the game of the week in college football. Maybe the game of the year. I mean Ohio State at Texas. It is not very often you can get the buck eyes as an underdog. They're getting a point and a half in this one. Emory. What I noticed last week from Archmaning was how great the offensive line was. Like he had all data throw. Yes, it's Texas State, but that's a great sign for the offensive line. And you saw him utilize every new weapon they got. Coleman, the two tailbags brown and also smothers. Like Archmaning being a point guard is going to be tremendous. The difference could be him using his legs against the Ohio State defense, but it's not going to be about Archmaning versus Ohio State's defense. It's really Archmaning versus

19:42Matt Patricia. That's the problem. The Puzzle Hill Hill have to solve. In Jeremiah Smith, the Cam Coleman, we're about to see, you know, who's going to have a leg up in that bulletin the culprits we were talking about earlier. I'm going to take Ohio State plus the point and a half here. I just feel like the buck eyes defense will be the key here and why they should have success. It's so impressive to me, Emory, and it's good for how you and I feel about things like how quickly some of these FCS programs, like D2 to FCS or FCS to FBS, how quickly they acclimate themselves to the next level and produce.

20:44Absolutely. And I feel like the same reasons why I felt North Dakota State would succeed or had sustained success at the FCS level is the same reason they're having success at the FBS level. Their recruiting draw is easy. They're right next door to Minnesota who only has power five Minnesota and then a slew of D2 schools and then they're right next to Wisconsin that has University of Wisconsin and then a slew of excellent division three schools. So they're still pulling great FBS talent that's just below the power four tight talent right to North Dakota State. And that's going to help them in this game to discipline. I can trust them against that quadruple option. I like to say for Air Force. Quadruple option Liam Zarka, a big fan of that young man, Air Force's quarterback, but Emory's going to lay the three and a half with the bison at Air Force. What about Cal? They had kind of a fun game. You got to tell me about their quarterback a little

21:45more. You're going to take Cal getting three points on the road all the way over in Syracuse and the traditional ACC matchup between the Houston and Cal Golden Bears. Oh my God, bring back old school college football, man, with conferences that make sense. But we do get a good one here indoors. It's all about Jarrang, Coway, Saagapula, Telly and what he can do health-wise. He was kind of banged up against UCLA, but you saw the arm talent. You saw him make some amazing throws in that ball game. Cal still going to be a very good football team in my opinion. I like what two boys done out there and bringing in that talent and sustaining and retaining some talent. I know Syracuse blew out their opponent last weekend, but I think Cal can go on a road pending the health of Saagapula Telly and win this ball game. So I'm taking a plus three and three points. All right, speaking to taking the points, San Diego State, the Aztecs are at UCLA and they're getting 11 and a half, Emory. This is my pick to win the pack 12 San Diego State. I feel

22:51like they can go undefeated. This is a big game for them because this was all about me thinking they can go undefeated. So they have Jayden Denigold, the outstanding quarterback who has his top four receivers returning. They have Lucky Sutton that running back NFL prospect. They have great along the offensive line, terrific along the defensive side of the ball, especially within the front seven. Titer game than people think because no one's talking about San Diego State. I will take them plus 11 and a half points and you know how I feel about UCLA. I was saying all spring and summer, they will win over six and a half games. So hopefully folks will listen to me on CBS Sports HQ and was hammering that every time I brought it up. All right, what about BYU and Arizona? The Cougars were laying seven and a half against Arizona. I love the quarterback, Noa Fafita and what he did last year to get back to looking like what he did as a freshman. I think this is going to be another outstanding ball game. But when you talk about experience, both practical and age experience,

23:51that's going to matter in the trenches against BYU and that's where the Cougars I feel like will have the edge. So lay these seven and a half points with BYU. All right, Emory's laying it with BYU. Then when you have Mississippi State, Mississippi State Minnesota, that's an interesting matchup. Mississippi State's on the road, laying a point and a half at Minnesota. Drake Lindsay is the quarterback for Minnesota. You're you're going to like how he plays, how he throws, prototypical dropback pastor, Camario Taylor has the arm talent. We talked about him as a player to watch also has the mobility too. I like the way that is Mississippi State team is building. I think that big offensive line, their ability to run a football and the plus one with Camario Taylor will be the difference here on the road. I will lay the points, the point and a half with Mississippi State. All right, then you've got last but certainly not least Memphis and Boise State. They're going against each other. You like the total in this one, Emory, it's 55 and a half. Definitely taking over because of what

24:54Memphis brings to the table. But also Boise State is one of those rare teams that that I've never seen allowed one loss to become to the following week. So they have short memory. They're going to come bring their A game. We saw they now can score. They're still explosive. Maddox, Matt Senn is still a very good quarterback that's you know does his job as well. So I could see this one going over that total for sure. So as a reminder, in tonight's game, it's SMU, it's Florida State. Emory is laying at the three points with SMU at Florida State. Then for this week, he's he's taking Oklahoma, Oregon, Kentucky, Ohio State, North Dakota State, Cal, San Diego State, BYU, Mississippi State, and he likes the over in Memphis and Boise State.
