6:09It is going to be a wild crowd in rubber. I think that this is any indication how it's going to be a reparing tomorrow. I mean senior day last game this crowd can help project it. Remember last year's Florida game was awesome. It was awesome. It was like an 11 a.m. And we didn't know if anybody would come and it's awesome. There's something about in Florida comes in there now. That's where people are get to try gets excited. What it ended up like a hundred and six to a hundred. I think it's great. It's great. I didn't even notice by the way the biggest star here which is which is Abby Franklin. Yeah. And expecting Abby Franklin sitting right here. Oh, and then pictures parents. Where am I? Where am I going here? I think I front row and I miss all three of them. They felt bad. They couldn't make the hometown show. So they came out for this one. Well, I was actually talking strollers with the coaches wives back there.

By the way, the Drew Franklin I met is not with the coaches wives talking strollers. Well, I mean, that is that is a huge change from the Drew Franklin. I hired a chaos. Well, the strollers not going to buy itself. I mean, we went on vacation in Miami and went stroller shopping. I even looked in the mirror like what am I doing right now. But you got to be prepared and we're excited. So how's he doing? Abby, is he doing a good job getting ready for? Have you built a crib? Oh, you should see the nurseries done. We just got to get all the little things. It's a long list. By the way, I have to do a quick thing. A lot of people have already brought stuff for us today. And I hear there's more after the show. Which I would guess is probably one of the highest spreads in Ruperina. Against Kentucky. I would say it's up there for one of the highest ever. But I would bet that's about what it is. Yeah, I mean, you lost by nine down there, I think. Kentucky, other than the two teams, the beat Florida. Kentucky's played Florida closer than anyone else in the conference. Most teams have gotten smoked by him. And then getting home, I would say to be around that nine number

9:10and top of single digits. Well, you know, Malachai and Jasper are here. And so I will, I don't know if they're hearing right now, but I will say Shannon, I genuinely, this is not just me saying, I genuinely think Kentucky can win tomorrow. Yeah. You know, watching the game. Good pop. Watching the game at Florida. I actually, you know, we played them really well, except one little run that we gave early. And then that gap kind of stayed the gap. I think with this crowd, this is a huge game for the Kentucky crowd. Yeah. I think Kentucky crowd. This has to be rough at its absolute best in order for Kentucky to get you. Huge game tomorrow. But yeah, if you go back to that game in Gainesville, Kentucky had a chance there at the end to go on a run and possibly win the game. So I do have a lot of optimism about the game tomorrow. And I think that that home crowd is going to play big into the result of it. Well, I mean, I see a couple of the guys who are going to play a part of it back here. And by the way, Jasper, this truck. Come on now. That truck is insanely nice.

10:12Also while Malachai is right there, if I may brag on him, in the Florida game, you know, they're all about rebounding. Their rebound numbers are insane. And guys, how about this crowd out here to see you guys this morning? This is awesome. I've never been a part of something like that. Never been. Well, I bet it won't be the last time. You guys have had a really amazing high school career in Kentucky and now playing at UK.

14:14Jasper, I'll start with you with the truck here. It says Kentucky till I die. What has it been like to get to play for your home state school all year? It's been incredible. I mean, it's something that I've churned about since I was a little kid. You know, coming here, having a great season so far. I mean, everything that I was doing. Whoa. Well, I got a little bit, a little bit too much there. Malc has same for you. I mean, you've had great success on the floor and you've even had your mom calling into post game shows. I mean, that's how big this season's gone for you. It's been awesome. I'm just enjoying the day by day having so much fun and getting to enjoy it with my boys. Now, when you started the year, I don't think people really knew. Your mom's been giving me a hard time because I said, I don't know how much you'll play this year. And then now you've ended up moving and starting. I mean, did you expect to come in and contribute like you have so far? I definitely knew it was going to be a process. But I knew if I put in the hard work and just showed up every day with my heart on, I knew great things would come my way.

15:14Tell me, Jasper, what it has been like sort of, you know, this season's been up and down and up and down and up and down. What's it been like going through? I mean, you guys have some amazing wins. You also have some losses that have been kind of disappointing. What is that like to go through on a day-to-day basis? I mean, it's a lot. It's a mentally challenging for sure. But I know the guys around me, my teammates and coach Polk and a host staff were all confident in each of us. You know, we come in and practice every day with any lead mindset and just try to get better. What's a practice like with Mark Pope for both of you? I've been to one, but it was in front of the media, so I don't know if that was different. What's it like on a day-to-day basis? I don't really know how to describe it to me, honey. I mean, it's just all about getting better, just making sure we're paying attention to detail and just pushing each other to be the greatest version of ourselves. Now, we've seen Jasper different versions of Mark Pope, right? We've seen him, I saw him punch a board.

16:14I didn't know he had that in him. Did you see that coming? No, definitely not. I mean, y'all, everybody says coach Polk is a nice guy. I mean, yeah, he is, but there's definitely times where he brings someone out. Oh, so there's some screaming in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He gets to that patino mindset and goes crazy again. You know, practice stuff like that. How many times does he say Rick Patino? If he said, I feel it. How many times do you hear about Patino? Man, he always talks about how the times where he's gotten soft on this and how he used to, you know, have to go into games and stuff like that. Even after a win, you know, he'll put 12, 12, 11 or whatever. Oh, they get up and they run. Yeah, he brings it out a couple of times, but not too much. All right, I want to ask you about a couple of your teammates. Let's start with the guy that every game, I have no idea what's going to happen. I have to have a camera on this dude in his day-to-day life, Malachi, which is Brandon Garrison. I mean, at any given moment, he could shoot a three or punch a guy in the face.

17:17What is it like playing with Brandon Garrison? That's awesome. He's always coming to work. He's a funny guy. I always have a fun in the locker room. He always pushes me to be better, pushes Jasper to be better. Have you all almost gotten in a fight? I mean, you have to go one-on-one with each other. Jasper, shake it in his head. With those eyes. I mean, it's all out of love. We're just going to make each other better. You fight out of love. Yeah. Okay. It's like having an older brother, you know? Yeah. I mean, an older brother, Michael, he fought out of love. Jasper, is there someone on the team whose job it is when he nearly fights someone to go hold him back? Oh. Coach McCale, McLean. Yeah, Coach McCale. Is that really his assigned to duty? It's a couple of different people who have to hold him back, though. He's a big guy. Now, away in Aberdeen, Jasper, you play with them in the back court. Both seniors, both, I mean, Aberdeen's won a title. Away, of course, was here last year. Are those guys, have they been good sort of mentor figures for you this year?

18:18Yeah, yeah. They definitely have. I know both guys have had great college careers and had a great experience so far. And, you know, having their CM night tomorrow is going to be sad that that's their last game plan. And Walker Horn. Yeah, Walker Horn. Are you going to be crazy? Brian's crying for him, Walker Horn. Now, I've known him since, you know, Cow is recruiting me in. I take a couple of visits. He was always there, you know, giving me some advice and stuff like that. What he's seen. And he stood us to this day. I mean, he's on the scout team. And I'm telling you, Walker shoots a wall like elite at an elite level. He's a great guy to be around in a locker room and stuff like that. All right. Now, I'm asking you for some scoop. Don't worry. Popin' the staff are not listening. All right. They won't even know. Cam. All right. We'll hear you start in practice. Maybe start in practicing a little bit yesterday. You think we might get to see some cam before the season is over? I mean, hopefully. We don't know. We don't know. We don't know. Hopefully. I mean, we don't know the inside scoop, but yeah, he was in practice just today.

19:20And he was looking good from what I saw. But, I mean, like I said, it's not up to us. It's up to Cam and how his body feels. And how the trainers look, how the coaches feel. Whatever he can do on the court when he gets back. I'm sure practices have been hard with your limited roster. We know how it impacts games, but has it been difficult in practice being so thin? And how helpful will he be just behind the scenes getting down the court in practices? Yeah. He'll be really helpful. You know, Cam's a guy who can play multiple positions. And so he definitely feels in a roster spot at any given time. He's a elite defender, elite shooter. So, I mean, hopefully he can recover. And, you know, you look good in practice the other day. But, you know, like Miley said, it's really up to him. Well, by the way, you guys got some guys. I said this when I went to your practice, they don't get a lot of attention. But your scout team, though, I don't know who those guys are. They got some dudes that can ball on that team. Did they ever work you all in practice? Sometimes I... No, there's definitely been... There's definitely been some days. They've got a lot of running. Who's the old guy? The guy... You know what I'm talking about? The guy that...

20:20Oh, fit. He's a bucket. Six, eight. He wears six knee braces. And he... He will work you all sometimes, isn't it? This is good, man. He was a pro for a long time, then. He knows how to see the game. So, sometimes you just get to cook it one day. All right. Tomorrow's Florida. You guys have already played them once. Malkai, you know they're big. They keep coming at you. They got all different kinds of talent. I think tomorrow's going to be one of the great, rubberina environments in terms of crowd. I just... I mean, look at this right here. You can see what it is. It's going to be like this times 50 tomorrow. How do you feel going into the Gators? I feel good. We know what to expect. And we know what's coming our way. And it's time for a get back, so. Time for the get back. All right. Now, Jasper, Xavier Lee. He kind of went... Got hot on us. Are you going to lock him down tomorrow? I'm ready to see some of that defense. I saw it with Woodford County and overtime. Yeah. Yeah. All the guards are, you know, we really liked it into the defense of the assignment. I mean, coaches have been challenging us throughout the week

21:21to pick up our intensity. You know, try to help our bigs out going into this 40 games. So we have a game playing a scout report on them. You know, we're going to try to do whatever we can to help maintain it. I'll finish with this. You guys are both from Kentucky. In addition to playing, playing at Kentucky gives you a lot of nerves anyway. Or, you know, a lot of pressure, not nerves, but pressure. You guys, and I think Trent, have extra pressure with the sort of hometown guys. What's it like to go to play through that? And then what's it like when you're dealing with all these fans knowing how much they want you to succeed? You know, I mean, with me, I don't really feel like that much pressure. I know everybody in here is supporting me and the team at a high level. So, I mean, coming out and, you know, just doing everything that I've practiced and, you know, leaving it up to God and then faith in and just being an even kill all the time. On you, Jasper, that guy right there, Ryan Limit. You do not have a bigger fan than here. Every game, he says, I want to see Jasper Johnson more.

22:21That is your biggest supporter in the bluegrass right there. That's family right there. I mean, I've known him since, before I was, you know, even playing basketball probably since a little kid. So, I appreciate this. And Mal, how about you with the pressure in Kentucky? I kind of think pressure makes diamonds and it's kind of hard. Not to enjoy playing for Big Green Nation. Yeah. And, I mean, like that. What about your mom calling the post game show? When you heard she called in, what did you think about that? Well, I'm going to be honest. I didn't know I was saying my last name wrong. Oh, wait a minute. You found out you were saying your last name wrong. Yeah, I thought I was saying it right. And then she told me that night. And then she called into the show and then called me after like three o'clock in the morning. So, I like this. So, you tell me what you thought your last name was. I thought it was Marino. You thought it was Marino. Yeah. But now you know it is Marino. Yeah. And so, have you switched it? Yeah. Oh, wow.

23:21How about that? Breaking news on KSR. You learned how to speak your name. Yeah, pretty much. Now, I knew your brother when he played at his prime versus you at your prime. Who wins? Is that even a question? I mean, he was good. He was a good player. No, yeah. He was good, but he's not me. I love it. There you go. Well, I will say to you, I'm proud of both of you guys. But I think it's very cool they have. I mean, I like the Benny Snail and those guys are on the team. Yeah. Follow them on social media. Get all their content. Benny, by the way, if he might have fallen Benny on social media, he's big on doing the TikTok in these days. But to the extent that I'm locked in on the roster and the schedule, I'm not quite there yet. I'm not excited to follow their start. I'm not there quite yet. Since we're talking, we mentioned football. We said that Will Stein's mom is wife or are here as well. You know, spring practice starts Tuesday. I don't know that people necessarily realize.

27:22Spring practice starts Tuesday. Will Stein's going to be on here for an extended interview on Monday. Great. So we'll be able to talk to him. But, you know, football is right here. And we're going to get to see. I mean, I can't think of a team we've ever known less about because we don't really know the coaching staff with the players yet. But I'm looking forward to it. I think all Kentucky football fans are really excited about the upcoming season. What Will Stein's going to bring to the table? You know, I think we're all, we don't know what Kenny Minchi or quarterback. What's he going to be like? The pick number three, by the way, which has a history of being a good number. She said they just moved their entire family here two weeks ago. You don't even think about that transition. Like all these coaches and their wives, they've all, you know, they all have moved in the last couple of weeks.

30:26And we're all like sound that that's my that's my grandpa. That's my dad. You know, we all just immediately fall in love with that voice and how he's talking about things. And it was just a kind of a special moment. I'm a big fan of Larry. I loved hearing him on the show yesterday. It's the first time he'd ever been on the radio with you. The thing I like about Larry is if you weren't there. He would he would talk without the microphone. Yeah. Yeah. As if he had the microphone. So he just kept talking when he was off the air. Yeah. And I was like, you know what? You're welcome to come home. Did you see last night Michigan State was playing Rutgers. I don't know if anybody wants it. Michigan State is up eighteen with two minutes to go. Tom Ezo takes out all his players and puts in all his seniors. Most of whom don't play. But he puts them all out. They're up eighteen with two minutes to go. Rutgers cuts it to one. Oh. Wow. Now they ended up winning. But the Michigan State fans, you could tell we're like, hey. We're glad you're seniors. You won't be here next year. That will not be much of a legacy drew if you ended up losing this game.

31:27And then they held on, but they cut it to one after being up eighteen with two minutes to go. I saw Barry Sanders kid was one of them too. Barry Sanders in the house for senior night. That leads me to ask though. Are we starting our seniors against Florida tomorrow? How much run do Walker and Zach get in the beginning of the game? When it's an interesting question. In Gainesville, you pretty much lost the game in the first five minutes and played them even from there. So what? You know, I haven't thought about that. Did they still do that? We've only had pubs experienced once. Did he last year? I can't even remember. I think he did. But all of the seniors were guys that play. That's right. That's how it's so many older guys. So what are you doing? Are you starting them? I'm always been. Start them. Look at this lady. You look like she seems so nice. And you're like no walker horn in that toe. You start them. First whistle. Take them out. I think you give them the power to happen in the first whistle. I think you take the ball and walk out of bounds to get the whistle. I think somebody on Tubby's team did that. We got the tip. They tipped it to him. He just held it. They called time out.

32:27Blue the whistle. Took him out. I'm just a quick. It's something. Give them their moment of the, you know, going through the starting five and have that. I mean, I love them, but maybe not more than just a quick. If I'm walker, though, and I'm starting, if I get the ball, I'm cranking it. I don't care if I'm half-court. I am cranking it. Where is it? But it is Florida. I mean, this is like, you know, this is a game where I don't know that you can give up very many points. Because they're going to score a lot as it is. They've averaged 109 points the last two games to give you an idea. Here's what we do. You start them. If Florida wins the tip, just commit a quick foul. Okay. I like that. If Kentucky wins the tip, Walker gets one shot. Jack won three. And if he hits it, he stays in. What do we, what do we think Mark's going to do, though? That's an interesting question. Because Mark seems like the kind of guy who really respects the tradition and would want to have that moment. Do you think they do it? I'm trying to think, did Cal do it? It's like Sam Malone and Brian Long. Yeah. I think he did. I think he did. Yeah. We were also beating teams by like 50 that year.

33:27Yeah. And we weren't playing to try to stay out of Wednesday or the SEC tournament. I mean, that's true. Well, let's talk about that. Yeah. I mean, this has got to be one of the biggest last games of the season that I can remember. I mean, I'm sure we've probably had one or two over the years, Ryan, that have been for the championship. But when you look at the discrepancy between, I mean, if we win a double buys, definitely on the table. Because we need like Arkansas to beat Missouri, which you think they probably would. And we need vanity to beat Tennessee, which is certainly plausible. And then you're a forcing. But if you lose, and then what it looks like is going to happen happens, you're a non-seed and you're playing on Wednesday. So I can't remember a time the games meant this much. I'm more anxious about this game for our post season than I am when, like you said, you're playing for a championship. You win it, you win the title. Most of those years, we're already secure that double buy. But for this one to have such that variation of playing on Wednesday night or a double buy on Friday. I think I'm more anxious for this game than I've been in a long time.

34:28If they lose this game tomorrow, they need a lot of help from Mississippi State to beat Georgia. So KSR did a really good job of the website of listing all the possibilities. And if we lose, the highest we can be is an eight. If we lose, the most likely scenario is a nine. And probably the second most likely scenario is a 10. So if we lose, I think Shannon's right. We really need Mississippi State to beat Georgia. And then I think we need Oklahoma to beat Texas, both of which are not necessarily certain. So I drew, I mean, a loss and we're packing up and heading to Wednesday probably. Or if you're in the 11th, 30th game in Tuesday. That could still be on the table. If you're the first, if you're the non, that's the first Wednesday game. Wednesday game, yeah. I mean, the fans would probably need to be there Tuesday night or up very early Wednesday, because you could be playing before noon, local time in Nashville. Have we ever been an underdog on senior day ever?

35:29Who'd we play last year? Albert, see? Look right there. That boy. And Andy knew. Probably a couple, but we're not, but I don't know that we've been an underdog by this much in a long time. Now the women, real quick, the women play at noon. This show will do the thing we did at 10.45. We'll actually do it 11.45 since the games at noon. So you'll lose 15 minutes. Play South Carolina. That was a big win for me yesterday. Women's bracketology has now moved Kentucky to a four and hosting in the first and second round. So Michigan State and us were competing for the last hosting seed. Michigan State lost yesterday. Kentucky won. So they moved us above them. So I think as long as Drew, they play well today. They got a really good shot of being able to host in the first and second round, which would be huge for him. Heck yeah. And I don't think Dawn Staley slept last night after Claire Strac at 33 points and hit five threes in that game. I looked it up. She hadn't had a three since January.

36:29It went five for seven yesterday. I know she's the worst superstar. Kenny Brooks has ever coached, but a hell of a game yesterday. Let's talk about that, Shannon. Kenny Brooks said before the SEC tournament said Claire Strac is a superstar. I've coached a handful of superstars in my in my life. But she's the worst superstar I've ever coached, which I read that quote. And I was like, whoa. Since then she's been dominant right now. If the tournament ended today, she'd be the SEC tournament MVP. You think that was a good motivational tool to say you're the worst superstar. I've ever. That was great psychology on Kenny Brooks part to do that. Is it sort of like a back end of cobbling because you're calling me the worst. But you're also calling me a superstar at the same time. Whatever he said clearly it worked. And he knows how to motivate his players. I saw an interview with her. We listened on the way back yesterday. And in the interview, she said, that's my relation with ship with him. And I wanted to prove him wrong. So it looks like it worked. Yeah, she came with him from Virginia Tech. They've been together now for three years.

37:30When I first heard that, I thought, man, that would motivate me. He would tick me off my coach, call me the worst superstar he's ever had. I'm about to show him. And by God, she did it. That's what it's important to know the person of your players. Some people wouldn't respond to that. Absolutely. And she did. Who's up next? Daniel is up next. Daniel. Go ahead, Daniel. 45:35Would you want to see it happen? I want to see it happen. I want to see them go undefeated just to keep that excitement in a small conference. I grew up in a small conference, small school. Transylvania, they're playing tonight. You want, you put those small schools. Not only that's exactly the same thing. Miami of Ohio going undefeated. Transylvania is playing. Shout out, Transy. They'll hurt Ron Lane this morning. Yeah, I heard him on the leach report. But yeah. Are you a Transy guy? All right. Let's go. Are they at home? Are they playing here? Oh, it's in. Oh, it's in. St. Louis. Going in, Reeser. Yeah. But are you rooting for Miami of Ohio? I am. I think it'd be cool for them to go undefeated. I want them to get into the tournament. I do not think they should be in if they lose in the conference tournament. But I hope they go undefeated and get in there. But I will say if this is the team that beats them, you know, we've been in that Ohio arena just a couple years ago. Yeah. I had a great time. Love being in Ohio. Yeah. One team's going to do it. I would be excited for them having been that. I hope they went tonight, but then lose in the conference tournament. So then it puts the pressure on the selection committee. But you'll watch people lose their minds. So the New York Times, the New York Times, I thought this was interesting, requested proof that Miami of Ohio tried to schedule good teams.

46:40Asked them for all correspondence that showed they tried to schedule good teams. And they produced 20 letters with division with with major conference teams asking for a game and getting turned down. They were turned down for every one of them. Does that make a difference to you if they lose in the conference tournament? If they tried their best to play good teams and good teams would not play them. 20 you say. I would say there's 80 other teams in the top 100. But they reached out. They knew. They knew the top teams wouldn't play them. So they reached out to like pit. I think Vandy was one of the teams that turned them down. Oklahoma State. I think so they reached and just kept getting nose. Does that make a difference to you if they tried and still didn't give. If they legitimately tried to then I mean I guess their hands are tied in that situation. What do you want them to do? But they could play at least teams that are a little bit better than the ones they played in the 300s and you know high 200s. They still can play a better schedule. It definitely makes a difference for me because I'm pulling for them anyway.

47:42Even if they get beat I still think if they go into feeding the regular season they need to get in. This I think solidifies their argument. The New York Times actually kind of put that out there. Is there some sort of union to like like go against Miami Ohio to not schedule. Well I mean so this is one of the. You know you noticed when Kentucky played this year when we played bad teams we played horrible teams. That's what's going to happen. So I so the way the NCAA tournament things works. If you remember back when tubby was here you got a lot of credit for playing good teams. Like the Belmonts of the world even if you lost that's not how it is now. Now it's about how much you beat teams by and so like Alabama put up a scheduling thing. There's a there's a bulletin board where you can say you need a team. And Alabama said we want to play somebody but you have to be ranked 250th or worse for us to play. Because the incentive now is to play the bad teams and then beat the crap out of them.

48:42You get more you get more credit for that than if you beat Belmont by six. So then the NCAA essentially created this scenario. And now it's going to be interesting to see will they keep that team out. I totally agree with it. They have to fix it. I read this story. It's supposed to be about Miami Ohio but they've basically uncovered teams will only play quad one or quad fours. And if you're quad two or quad three they can't get a game. It's not worth the risk because you mentioned one. There were several examples of schools like we want to buy a game. You can't be ranked this. You pretty much got a suck. And if you sign players that makes you projected the good they cancel the contract. Wow. So I mean it's it is kind of interesting. By the way I don't know where she went. Miss Kentucky is here as well too. We want to give a big round of applause to Miss Kentucky over there with the sissy cakes. I don't think she can hear me. But glad to have her. Who's next?
