147: Why Thread Matters

Together, Matter and Thread are the new software and networking standards that promise to make all of your home automation and IoT gear work together, regardless of manufacturer. After Home Assistant's Paulus Schoutsen piqued our interest on the FOSS Pod, we decided to do a deep dive this week to demystify exactly what the two standards are and how they relate to one another, how they'll (hopefully) make things better, what they mean for your existing smart home equipment, and more.
