シベリア抑留とは、 第二次世界大戦の終戦間際（1945年8月9日）に突如ソ連が満州国、北朝鮮、南樺太、千島列島に進行し、 そこにいた日本人がシベリア、モンゴルなどの2,000か所近くの収容所に強制連行され、強制労働をさせられた。 日本最大の拉致被害と言われるこの事件はなぜ起こり、そして実態はどうだったのか。 戦争という悲劇を痛感させられるテーマである。
