Happy Monday Meditations! The attribute of God that we’ll be meditating on today will be his Righteousness.
The righteousness of God can be one of the more challenging attributes to understand, but it is truly one of the most important. It is an attribute that God alone possesses perfectly, and we, as humans by our own graces, do not.
Charles H. Spurgeon has a great quote, he says "The greatest enemy to human souls is the self-righteous spirit which makes men look to themselves for salvation."
It is important that you understand that righteousness is not something that God does, it is something that God is. To put it another way, righteousness is part of God’s character.
God counts us as righteous based only on the finished sacrifice of Jesus
