12. Burden of Love

About this episode

In this video, John shares about the "intolerable compliment." It is MUCH harder to be loved deeply than to be loved just a little.  And that difference may change your life.

John Ortberg discusses one of his favorite books, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and he is pulling relevant truths from it that we can apply in our every day. Crime and Punishment catapulted Dostoyevsky to the forefront of Russian writers and into the ranks of the world's greatest novelists, one of the supreme masterpieces of world literature. Drawing upon experiences from his own prison days, the author recounts in feverish, compelling tones the story of Raskolnikov, an impoverished student tormented by his own nihilism, and the struggle between good and evil.
