中江 兆民（なかえ ちょうみん、弘化4年11月1日（1847年12月8日） – 明治34年（1901年）12月13日）は、日本の思想家、ジャーナリスト。
「自由はとるべきものなり、もらうべき品にあらず」と自由の本義を語る兆民は、民が王の頭に釘を打つのが民主であると喝破した。冒頭の言葉はリズムがよく覚えやすい。
