一期一会
井伊 直弼（いい なおすけ。文化12年10月29日（1815年11月29日）－安政7年3月3日（1860年3月24日））は、幕末の譜代大名。近江彦根藩の第13代藩主。幕末期の江戸幕府の大老。
世に埋もれている時期も、そして幕府の要職をつとめる時も、「人は上なるも下なるも楽しむ心がなくては一日も世を渡ることは難しい」という心持ちで過ごしたのである。「一生に一度」の決意でものごとに当たる心構えの井伊直弼は暗殺で斃れることはもとより覚悟の上であった。「一期一会」は厳しい言葉であると改めて思う。
