Let's go ahead and pray and then get underway. Father, we thank you for giving us this new day and the privilege you have entrusted to us to to open your word and to to shine as lights in the world. Father, will you please give us the kind of comfort and joy that you desire for us? You promised us the

comforter you promised to to give us full joy. So please help that to be our reality. In Jesus name, I pray, amen, amen, and amen again, comfort and joy. So for me, the most important thing today is that Godly sorrow produces repentance. We're talking about the kind of sorrow that when God puts it into our minds, it's based on like when we have deviated from the path that he has marked out for our lives. There are some people that that either for reputations sake, they they manufacture a sorrow, you know, they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar like they got caught doing the thing that they shouldn't do. And so they have that crocodile tears as some people will say, we're not talking about that kind of a thing. We're talking about the kind that goes from the Holy Spirit into our lives. He leads us into all truth. And then in that moment, we become repentant. That's the gift from God, according to Romans chapter two. And God is giving us the kind of sorrow

where whether we got caught or we didn't get caught or whatever it is, we're just thinking, but how could I have separated myself from God like this? And then when we do repent under God, then we have joy, like fullness of joy because there is now no separation between us in the one who repents. That's us. And in everyone who loves them, this is the fruit of authentic ministry. So, okay, so we're reading this from Paul's perspective because of course, there are a lot of people that he cared for spiritually, right? And so in 2 Corinthians, we get his testimonies chapter seven and verse four, the Bible reads, I am filled with encouragement or filled with comfort. I am exceeding joyful in all your tribulation or in the midst of all our suffering, our suffering.

Okay. And so really, Paul was overflowing with joy in the midst of suffering, not after it ended. He wasn't waiting for it to be over. I think the songwriter said, don't wait till the battle is over, you can shout now because we know in the end, we're going to win. Yeah. So he wasn't waiting until the end of all of that. The comfort of God does not wait for circumstances to improve. It fills the believer while the pressure is still on. That kind of joy only can come from God. And so, when he would see the people of God finally repent, when he would see them hold on, take hold of the truths that he and his cohorts would teach, he would receive, he would become joyful, even though he would be suffering because it was like he was on a cross all the day long, every day in in in of sorts, because of the gospel ministry that he accepted from God. And on the behalf of the people and it would, even though it caused trials and tribulations to come his way, when he saw

people's lives transformed, he was like, this is good. Count it all joy when you enter into all of these kinds of trials and tribulations because there is an outcome that God is working in your life. And so today, just ask God to fill you with his comfort in whatever tribulation that you're going through, whatever suffering that you happen to be in, not after it passes. This is something, this is like the next level brothers and sisters that we're asking God to help us to be like like Jesus said, blessed are those in a different context, blessed are those who believe without even seeing. And so I can hear him saying, blessed are those who see the light at the end of this trial in tribulation, they can see the sun on the horizon. And they're saying, God, I thank you for what you have promised to do and what you are indeed doing now, even though I'm not feeling it yet, because you said that he who began a good work in me is able to complete it. And we are looking

forward to the completion, okay. And so it fills the believer while the pressure is still on. And that kind of joy, it only comes from God. So, so, so, in the middle of all of those trials and has a testimony that he is present and sufficient, counted all joy brothers and sisters right now. You will cry sometimes, you will be sad sometimes, but don't cry or be saddened as those who have no hope know that God in fact is with you. And we go into 2nd Corinthians chapter 7, verses 9 and 10 that makes more sense of what I said in the beginning as the main point. And we are reading now I rejoice not that you were made sorry, but that you sorrowed to repentance. We're talking about the real stuff now, not the ones when the cameras are on and somebody forced it so you can keep your job. Not that for you were made sorry after a godly manner that he might receive damage

from us in nothing. So you wouldn't be harmed by us in any way. For godly sorrow, work of repentance to salvation not to be repented of. Let me let me read it in another way for sadness, this kind of sadness and as intended by God produces a repentance that leads to salvation. It doesn't lead you out like Judas Judas to go hang yourself. It does however lead you like with Peter as the cock did crow and he did realize that just as Jesus said he would betray him and when Jesus' eyes met him and met his eyes, he realized oh my word all that Jesus was doing. I betrayed him God. Why am I like this? Will you forgive me? That is the kind of thing and we see that Peter's life was transformed and he walked according to God's principles after that. Okay. And so there's no regret in that kind of thing according to the same scripture, but worldly sadness like in the case of Judas

brings forth death. And so repentance, this is a complete change of mind and direction. It's a right about turn. It is walking in the opposite direction of the sin in the mindset and in the actions. It's the opposite walk. It's a 180 degree correction and an inner transformation. Godly sorrow does not stop that feeling bad. A lot of people that can cry and feel bad. I get it. And that sorrow does come and it may be deep. It may be a sincere sorrow, but does it is it the kind of sorrow that is willing to surrender its will to God or will to God? How it produces a decisive turning? worldly sorrow circles around itself and guilt and despair, but Godly sorrow moves forward into the arms of God. That is the goal brothers and sisters in comfort and joy. Make it a great day. Peace. Thanks for joining us listening friends. Always remember, we cannot live by bread alone,

but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This has been your daily portion with Ella David Harris. Make it a great day.
