whether you're looking for family fun or date night out, we've got some fun for you this weekend

through the Ann Arbor Observer and it's many events that it collects. The guy who does it

is Michael Bright. I know you've got a great staff of people helping you too. Your colleagues

out at the Ann Arbor Observer. Welcome back and he is the Assistant Calendar Editor and puts together

not only day by day but hour by hour. What's happening over the entire month, every month you do this?

Over and over again. It's amazing. You really get to know our town. What's happening this weekend?

Well, yeah. A lot of stuff happened in this weekend. This is kind of middle of March. I feel

like every weekend we have a whole bunch of plays coming on and everything. I think everybody

starts practicing at the beginning of January and then showtime comes around this time of year.

So we got a couple plays. Professional Youth Theatre of Michigan is doing a show out at Riverside

Art Center in Ypsilani. It's kind of a family-friendly show. All weekend it's going to be 101 Dalmatian

kids. It's got a big cast of young actors, kind of grades two to five. Oh my goodness. It's an

adaptation of the 101 Dalmatians movie six to eight PM Friday six and eight PM two shows Friday

and Saturday a noon matinee and a two PM matinee Saturday and Sunday. There's a whole I think there's

two casts going a lot of kids playing in this 20 to $30 tickets for that. All right. Next one is

is this a kids offering two? It's it's a music. It's Into the Woods which is a musical kind of a more

of a grown-up musical mashup of the Brother Grims fairy tales. It's being put on by U of M Muscat

which is a really good group of U of M students not all musical theater students but a lot of them are

and they kind of independently put on shows twice a year. So this is down at the power center

going 7 30 PM Friday and Saturday and a two PM Sunday tickets for that in advance you can go to

ummusket.org. We're continuing with the Irish fair this weekend. Well, we just had St. Patrick's

right. So I throw it in here. Okay. It's a cool gig going on at Hill Auditorium Friday night

an Irish celebration. It's put on by Martin Hayes and the common ground ensemble. It's a

university musical society production but they just played over at Carnegie Hall and

to really great reviews. But this Martin Hayes is a really good fiddler and he's got this ensemble

and they do traditional Irish songs dancing and then some experimental takes on the traditional

theme. So they've been really well reviewed. Very high energy if you still in the Irish

mood from St. Patrick's Day 7 30 PM Friday night at Hill. All right. The Blue Lama, another one of

our treasures in downtown Ann Arbor. Who's there this weekend? Oh, yeah, they got a great act

coming Friday night. It's Linda May Han O who's one of the top bassists out there right now.

She is a Malaysian born by way of Australia but she now is based in New York City but she came

on playing with Pat Mithini and VJ Eyre in the early 2000s and kind of gone off on her own

but she usually plays with kind of the kind of the creme de la creme of jazz kind of softer jazz

quieter instrumental jazz. Two shows. Two shows Friday night 7 and 9 PM. They're $50 tickets but

if you want dinner and a show they're 95 so you get a three-course dinner and two. Oh, the food

at the Blue Lama is pretty darn good too. So I mean you think you got a $45 extra for a three-course

dinner. It's not so bad. No, not at all. That's great. This should be a great show. So 7 and 9 PM

Friday night. Okay. Let's move to the big home show that's happening sponsored by the Builders

and Remodel's Association of Greater Ann Arbor. Yeah, this is fun every year. They do out at the

Washington Farm Council grounds. This is a chance to check out over 120 exhibitors demonstrating

products and other home improvement services from the area. It's just a great way to connect if

you're interested in remodeling your home or just want to see possibilities and start thinking

about it. It's a great way to check out what's available in the area. So $5 gets you in

out at the Selene Farm Council grounds. 9 AM to 6 PM Saturday and then 10 AM to 5 PM Sunday.

All right. We have one more event this weekend. Intribute to a great artist from Ann Arbor.

I remember when he graduated from the University of Michigan back in the 70s and then in 1980 his

debut album Snap. I can still hear it today. Yeah, Dick Siegel. He's not performing as much

anymore, but they're doing a tribute show for him down at the at the arc on Sunday.

Really huge lineup of local greats. I mean, George Bedard's playing Mr. B. Chris

Buhalis, Annie and Rod Caps, Peter Rumegg, Kat Ruth, Randy Tessier, Brennan-Andes. Billy,

I mean, it goes on and on. So local musical acts coming out of the woodwork to just play a lot

of Dick's music and celebrate his legacy there. I love that. That's nice. It's Sunday show at the

arcs. I think it's a 7 PM earlier show, but it should be close to sold out, but there might be

a few tickets left and it's natural. All right. So much going on. So many talented people in our

community. We're so fortunate to live in Ann Arbor and our thanks to Michael Bright with the Ann
