1:05now tops $4 for the first time since 2022. 402 says AAA, that's just over $1 more than before the war in Iran began. President Trump said this morning on social media, nations upset by high fuel prices should, quote, go get your own oil. CBS News Business Analyst, Jill Slesinger. Most experts are sort of looking through and saying if this is a few weeks, maybe a month, we could go to four and a half. No one is right now predicting $5. Remember, we got to $5 back during the Ukrainian invasion in 2022. But this is a pressure on people's households. We already know that a lot of people were feeling the pressure before the war began. Let's say that you were spending say 200 bucks a month on gas. It's not to say that you can't absorb 250 or even 300 for all months. But if this persists for many months, this is a real drag on household finances. Iran has hit new targets in Israel and President Trump has threatened to target Tehran's

President Trump posted video overnight, believed to show 2,000-pound American bunker-buster bombs striking the city of Isfahan in Iran. It's home to a key Iranian nuclear facility, where it's expected that a cache of enriched uranium is stored. Earlier, Trump warned that if Iran doesn't reopen the state of hormones to oil tankers, the U.S. will blow up Iranian power plants. The White House insists there's no contradiction between pursuing negotiations with Iran to end the war and threatening another attack. There's ever a chance for a deal. Again, the President is open to listening. Nobody asked us, are you ready for war? Are you ready for a change? Last night, we spoke with a resident of Tehran Iran's capital. He told us many Iranians who despise the regime have now given up hope that the war will help topple it.

3:07They are ready at any cost to stay in top. TSA workers are getting their first pay checks in more than a month, but there's no end in sight to the partial government shutdown. CBS News Transportation Correspondent, Chris Van Clee. After more than a week of travel chaos, security lines across the country looked a lot less daunting Monday. Weight times topped out at about an hour at Houston's bus airport and in Atlanta. They were less than 15 minutes for much of the day. I travel probably three, four times this month and this has been moving pretty good. It comes as TSA workers across the country tell CBS News, they've started receiving about a month's worth of back pay after President Trump signed an executive order last week. How confident are you that the paychecks keep coming? Not very. TSA officer Pasquale Contreras told us, he'll be back on the job today. Last week, he ran out of gas money to go to work. 4:08from Brazil to Atlanta. Flames shooting from an engine right after takeoff. As flames burst from the plane's left engine, you can hear passengers screaming. Video shows parts of the engine falling from the air bus jet after it left the runway. Delta said in a statement, the plane returned to the airport soon after takeoff Sunday evening, following a mechanical issue with the aircraft's left engine. Florida's governor signed a bill that renamed the Palm Beach airport after Donald Trump, effective July 1st. A measure calls for the three-letter code to change from PBI to DJT. The countdown is on for NASA's historic moon mission. Lift off is set for tomorrow. The Orion spacecraft has a similar shape to Apollo, but it's smarter. It carries a four-person crew, not three, and it'll look different when it reaches orbit. Orion has great solar panels. We can generate electricity along the entire way. Kirk Sharman is the Orion program manager for manufacturer Lockheed Martin,

5:10which has spent more than two decades developing the spacecraft. Sharman says out of necessity, there's a lot of built-in redundancy for critical systems like life support. The US Supreme Court hears arguments today in a case that could have implications for the racial makeup of juries. It involves Terry Pitchford, who's been sentenced to death in Mississippi. CBS News legal analyst, Thane Rosenbaum. The defendant was black. The prosecutor used his preemptory challenges to eliminate four black jurors, leaving only one in a district with a 40 percent black population. The defendant was convicted and sentenced to death, and now he is seeking a new trial. The FBI says the man who drove into a Detroit area synagogue earlier this month, planned a Hezbollah-inspired terror attack targeting Jews. The FBI's Jennifer Runyon says the man who took his own life made a video before the attack. The evidence shows the attacker was motivated and inspired by Hezbollah's militant ideology.

6:15Nobody inside the synagogue was hurt. Mexico's president is vowing action over the deaths of Mexican nationals in US immigration detention centers or during raids over the past year. Vanessa Calva Ruiz is with Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. January 2025, the government of Mexico has documented 14 deaths of nationals either under the custody of immigration authorities or during immigration control operations. Well, the army is looking into videos posted by Kid Rock over the weekend that show two US military attack helicopters near his Nashville home. CBS's Matt Gutman. At one point as a helicopter hovers, you see Kid Rock saluting. Now, the military says aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, and it's looking to see if there was any deviation from an original flight plan, or if this was a flyby specifically engineered for Kid Rock and outspoken supporter of the president.

Out of 20,000 people surveyed, I think only 25% said that people's role in democracy is working well and just a little bit more feeling like they have power to make social change. Derek Barker with Gallipal Partner, the Kettering Foundation. He says those who used more social media felt more involved, but some were more prone to extreme views. Civic education, whether through school or just being involved in community groups, helped people feel the most empowered. Heather Bosch, CBS News.
