017 Reflections From Surat Al-Mulk || Sh. Nassim Abdi

0:00Al Bayan Radio presents reflections from Suratul Mulk, presented by Sheikh Nasim Abdi. And we continue with verse 16 and 17 of Suratul Mulk. We began in the previous episode, speaking about how these verses are linked to the Muslims Ahadah, the Muslims Eman, his belief system, and to wrench Allah Azza Wa Jalla, we continue with some of the other benefits that we can find in the ayat. So Allah Azza says, do you feel secure that he who is above the heavens, meaning Allah, will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes. Meaning, any second Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala can cause things to happen. Allah Azza Wa Jalla, he just says, this is something very important because it means that the believer is always having his reliance on Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala. He never fills himself, mustaq nian ala Azza Wa Jalla, he never fills himself, self-sufficient, that he is not in need of Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala,

1:02no, no matter who you are, how you are, no matter how strong you are, how wealthy you are, how healthy you are, how many children you have, how amazing your business is, how smart you are, Allah Mabarak. No, we never, ever think ourselves, self-sufficient, not in need of Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala in his guidance and mercy and assistance and protection. You always, dear brother and dear sister, i.e. of Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala, a person could be afflicted with a punishment, it could be a sickness, it could be the business going under, it could be problems in their family, laqadr Allah, wa Allah Azza wa Jalla keep us and all of the believers safe. But because of his reliance on Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala, this is a protection from Allah Azza wa Jalla. And Subhan Allah, part of the Eman of this believer in Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala, if that after him trying, him being a good believer, him making doah, he's doing it off-guard, etc. Something was to happen to him, he knows that ultimately it is better for him

2:02and say he is patient with anything that comes from Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala. Allah Azza wa Jalla continues and he says, or do you feel secure that he, who is over the heavens and he again Allah Azza wa Jalla is reaffirming, will not send against you a violent whirlwind and you like the people before us. Some people were destroyed with a wind and imagine Subhan Allah a wind, something that you can't see, something that, generally speaking, causes you no problems whatsoever. Allah Azza wa Jalla turned it into a punishment. Allah Azza can turn something that you love or something that you think is amazing into a punishment. The people who live in mountainous regions or who live in desert areas, these people need rain to live. From amongst the people that were destroyed were people who thought that these clouds, these dark clouds that were coming were actually going to bring rain so they actually got happy. They said, they are the Aridu Mu'mteruna. This is a great rain cloud coming to bring this rain. So they actually thought that it was a blessing from Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala.

3:02Not knowing that it was actually a punishment from Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala. Some people, they may think that their wolf is a means and a sign of Allah s-Phanahu wa Ta'ala's love and this could be incorrect. Maybe Allah Azza wa Jalla wants you to be moved away from his path. So he gives you that wolf in order for you to busy yourself or in order for you to move away from his worship by having less reliance upon him or for you to become arrogant and for you to not fulfill your promises of helping the poor and needy or not fulfilling your obligations like giving your zakat, etc. So whatever we have in our life, the question is not, is it in and of itself a sign that Allah Azza wa Jalla loves me or doesn't love me or Allah wants goodness for me or the opposite but rather how am I using it? If I'm using it for the pleasure of Allah then yes, this is a good sign. But if Ayatun Bala, it's something opposite to that where you have a blessing from Allah but you're not using it correctly or it's made you a worse person then that Ayatun Bala is an extremely bad sign in which we should be very fearful of. When it comes to these matters the brothers and sisters

4:03we don't have time to play around with games because arrogance and pride they destroy an individual and they stop him from seeing the right way properly. We need to be humble no matter what Allah Azza wa Jalla has given us we need to be humble and allow everything that we have to increase us in worship to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. So Allah Azza wa Jalla, he says that do they think that they are safe and that Allah Azza wa Jalla from rough the heavens will not send upon them a violent whirlwind then you shall know how terrible has been my warning. You don't wait for you to fall into a problem to say I should have and I should have and I should have. Rather learn from the mistakes of the people before you learn from the stories that Allah tells in the Qur'an and the pros and totes in the Sunnah and the stories of those before us the reason that these stories are passed on and passed down and they're told to us and they're reported to us and they're rated to us it's not for us to say oh that's a nice story or that's an amazing story or that's a scary story but rather to learn from what Allah Azza wa Jalla wants us to learn from from their stories

5:05the good take it the bad make sure that you don't follow in their footsteps and when it comes to stories of what you hear people now doing the person who got sick out of nowhere the person who lost all of his wealth out of nowhere the person who's family was destroyed out of nowhere the person who died out of nowhere and now the people that you see with your own eyes and you hear with your own ears be a lesson for you to make sure that you are in a state which is pleasing to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala as best as you can be and as we always say you're going to fall into mistakes no one is perfect all of the sons of Adams are people that make mistakes but the best of those who make a lot of mistakes are those who are constantly in repentance so yes you're not going to be perfect no one is going to be perfect but what we should do is constantly repent to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so we love Allah Azza wa Jalla we know Allah through his names and attributes we go closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala through them we appreciate the blessings that Allah Azza has given us they increase in love for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

6:06and so we increase in worship to Allah Azza wa Jalla and we also feed the punishment of Allah Azza wa Jalla and we learn through the stories of the people before us and we say from the people around us what not to do and say we're hastin in repentance to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because we do not want to be punished by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala we don't want to be punished in this dunya no do we want to be in the hereafter not Allah Azza wa Jalla keep the punishment away from us in this world and the next may Allah Azza wa Jalla reward us with his blessings in this world and the next may Allah Azza wa Jalla allow us to live a life of righteousness and purity and any take us when he's happy with us Hathawallahu alam salallam Muhammadu ala ala ala ala
